Thanks a lot PaladinValer and gvsuman for spoiling the ending for me.
Yeah, lol, whatcha doing reading the Amazing Race thread knowing that some people already know how it will end? LOL, I knew better and just waited till the show was over to jump on here. Come on, now.

I'm so happy Chip and Kim beat Colin and Christie, but Chip ticked me off a bit lying so much during this leg. I know it's a game and everyone's in it to win it, but, it still rubbed me wrong. But they played hard, and I was so proud of Chip on the Ascender challenge. They were such a pleasure to watch...they really did make the most out of their experience.

And the moms...wow, they really impressed me on the Ascender. That looked so hard and they never gave up, even when they knew it was over. They have nothing to be ashamed of.

 My sweet Brandon. What a man, giving Nikki a piggyback ride down the hillside while she's in the midst of a mental breakdown. I was hoping they'd pull out a win, but I'm glad they at least won ONE vacation out of the whole thing. I really enjoyed watching them play this season. A very sweet couple.

As for Colin and Christie, well, I was thrilled to hear Colin admit what we all already knew...that he is, in fact, an ignorant American. ;) Amen, brother...and I won't miss him or his temper tantrums one little bit. :)

Yeah, but it is still rude to even post such a thing knowing that some people are still in the process of watching. It's like telling someone the end of the movie even though they told you not to.

In any case, I screwed up the recording for TAR since I had to be somewhere tonight and am really P.Oed at myself.

Very happy Kim and Chip won and not Collin and Christie. (After finding out I screwed up the recording, I looked up the result order on another website.) Of all the teams that I felt played the cleanest and best race, Kim and Chip were it.

Okay, I'm disapointed that my favorite team was eliminated. But they played as well as they could. Good for them. I couldn't have climbed that rope up that mountain either. When I saw that, I knew they weren't going to win.

Colin and Christie, wow. Colin is so unbelievably athletic. He went up that rope in lighteing speed. I was awed. I was so glad to see their attitude change. I'm glad that they came together and showed their appreciation for each other in the end. And I know that people here have judged them not to be Christians, but that isn't for us to say. Colin wears a cross and seems to be like a lot of Christians I've met. Not everyone is a Baptist in this world.

Brandon and Nichole, I'm really sorry that Nichole is so immature. I can only hope that not being in a race environment will help her to get it together eventually. I think Brandon is probably one of the most level headed and even tempered young men I've ever seen. I think he is probably having second thoughts about being with Nichole though. He said something to that effect, that I'm not sure if anyone else caught. She is very whiney, and she does seem to be weak in many ways that Brandon is not. Fundamental ways.

Chip and Kim. Well, they sure got lucky. Being last was the only reason why they knew about the flight delay. They played it pretty well. I didn't like the flat out lying that they did with Brandon and Nichole. I think that was a bad judgement on their part. And completely unnecessary. But other than that, they deserved to win as much as the other teams.

Good bye Amazing Race thread participants. See you next time.....maybe.

My favorite part of the whole amazing race was last night when Brandon and Nichole were climbing up that snowy mountain, and Brandon says something like "just imagine Jesus at the top with his arms wide open". Talk about motivation to get up that thing!

And, by the way, I'm not going to apoligize for not using spoiler tags. I agree with Heather and whoever else said that you should have expected someone to say something. Maybe there should be a rule to not even get on CF, until every single time zone has seen the show

Colin proposed to Christie on the Early Show this morning. Way to steal Chip & Kim's thunder there, Mr. Intense.

I think the disagreement about when to use spoiler tags should be cleared up by a mod. At what point does it become unnecessary? On two other sites I know of, the rule is that once the show has finished airing in the Eastern time zone, it's no longer necessary to use spoiler tags. I know that both me and USincognito have stated before that we don't always get to watch the show in real time, so we steadfastly avoid any sites until we can watch.

But then again, what do I know? I'm just rude, after all.

And on that note, please re-read my "offending" post. Saying that I READ someone's post as rude is not the same as calling someone rude, especially when explaining in the very next sentence that it's the nature of a message board to infer different things since you can't hear tone of voice.

That is all. I'm sorry this thread turned in to a major snipe fest. Y'all can stop leaving disparaging comments in rep notes for me now, and you know who you are.

Arwen, you are so rude!!! ;) And, for the record, I stopped posting on this thread for that very reason. Condesending remarks. BTW, if you don't want to know what happened, avoid thread. Why should I have to contain my joy because you have no self control.

Way to go Chip and Kim!!!

Later.

Heather Jay, The rules are clearly stated about posting spoiler tags. Your comments imply that the person who had their viewing spoiled by other people not playing by the rules is "stupid". = stupid, especially when you're in full finger pointing mode. Did you mean to be so condescending? That was not cool.

I personally am really disapointed that spoiler tags weren't being used last night. I can only give the benifit of the doubt and hope that such thoughtless inconsideration for people in other time zones was because of being caught up in the excitement of the game. Those people should do the right thing and apologize for their indiscretion, even if it was as I would hope it to be, unintentional.

Okay, I'm disapointed that my favorite team was eliminated. But they played as well as they could. And have nothing whatsoever to be ashamed of. Good for them. I couldn't have climbed that rope up that mountain either. When I saw that, I knew they weren't going to win.

Hi Wisdom, the little smilie is not titled 'stupid'...it's titled 'doh.' So, no, I was not implying stupidity. I used that smiley because it was the very same one used by the poster I quoted in her post. Was she implying stupidity? You should ask her.

And there WAS a spoiler warning posted before any of the threads announcing the results of the race. Is it so hard to figure out that if you keep reading, you might find out the ending? Unless, that is, you're just trying to pick a fight and be condescending and self-righteous yourself?

I have truly enjoyed myself on this thread. I really hope to see you all next season.

To be fair, the spoiler warning I posted before others gave the results of the race away were not meant for them, but for the white text I have in that same message.

yay Chip and Kim!!! I'm so glad colin and christie did not win!!! Frankly I think they both need counseling. I wouldn't have minded if nicole and brandon won. I wonder how far each of these teams would have got if Kim, Nicole, and Christie were forced to do some of the roadblocks? I wish they would be made to alternate, because Kim did nothing, Nicole did one thing and whined about it, and Christie did one ( I think just one) and she whined too. lol it would make for a more interesting race.

He did? I wish I wouldn't have had to be at work and could have seen that. It's nice when people find out how much they mean to each other. I'm happy for them.

I apologize for being on this thread an hour before it showed here to post my picks for who would win it. I honestly didn't think anyone would just blurt out the ending before it could air here. You've all been so considerate about not doing that throughout the thread. And I really did think that everyone had read the spoiler tag thread on this forum like I had. http://www.christianforums.com/t103206 So, I apologize for getting upset that the ending of a 12 week investment of my time was spoiled for me 1 hour before it was over. But I am also sorry that after reminding people that it was still before the show here, I was attacked instead of apologized to. Blows my mind how people take responsibility for their actions in this day and age. :sigh:

As to your being "rude" Arwen, I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to. Perhaps whatever it is that inspired you to say this happened before I started posting two weeks ago? I'll pray for you to find peace about whatever it is. And have the strength to either work it with the person in private, or find the strength to let it go.

I'm not that thin skinned, but, you'll pardon me if I don't join in next time this show is on. ;)

To those of you who extended your hand of friendship to me because of this thread. Thank you. I hope to see you on other threads too. You people are great. And exactly what I would expect to find on a Christian Discussion Board.

I was disapointed that Karen and Linda were eliminated. But I they inspired me anyway.

I'm glad that the others came in when they did. And I agree with Wisdom Seeker, Lucky. If it weren't for coming in last, they woudln't have known about the flight delay. Not that they didn't deserve to win, but IMO they all did.

The final four teams were on CBS This Morning and Colin proposed to Christie on live-tv. I hate these things, because what is the girl to say? No? Also, kind of takes away the limelight from Chip and Kim, don't you think?

Woo-Hoo!!!

Yeah Chip & Kim! I knew it! I knew it!! Had my doubts for a minute or two, but there was a reason the other whiners' plane were delayed - "karma" for the team that had the best attitude. Yes, they used a yield against C & C. Yes, they "bluffed" Brandon & Nic. That's called "playing a game" to win.

Despite those two tactics in question by some of you, they played the rest of the entire game fairly, nicely, and I recall how they helped the twins pull some bricks or something, they stopped when others needed help, and they even gave directions once. When they DIDN'T use the yield the first time, they got messed up.

P.S. I agree with HeatherJay. In her defense, I had to tape it and wait for my husband to get home from work. Knowing that, I too, purposely did not go near this thread for fear of finding out the result! ;) I don't trust ANY of ya. LOL!!!

Until next season, it's been a pleasure, y'all!!

Wow!! What a terrific ending! I got tear eyed when Chip and Kim won. LOL!! What a fun season this was! I'm looking forward to the next season and to hearing from all of you again about this fun and fascinating show. Thanks for all the good times and great posts in here. They made the show a lot more fun for me.

I hate public proposals too; it puts too much pressure on the girl to say "Yes" to avoid hurting/humiliating the guy in public. Proposals should be made in private where the girl is free to say "Yes" or "No".

First my opinion on the spoilers. I personally just avoid threads and forums about these sorts of shows until after I've watched it. That said, the moderation staff has requested, and it's just good netiquitte to use spoiler tags.

There was so much I loved about the finale.

Next to last leg - Linda and Karen gave it their all until the very end. Good for them. If either young team messed up and had the girl do the climb, that team would have been eliminated for sure. It was a beautiful sunny day and the islands were gorgeous which would contrast nicely with Calgary in the second hour. Two  moments. Colin thinking a travel guide would have helped. No Psycho Dad, a study of the CIA fact book and an almanac would have given you the flags. Brandon didn't know what vertigo is. Blue Lagoon Boy, leave the thinking to your brighter half.

Last Leg - Calgary was beuatiful with all the snow and the mountains. I thought using the Olympic Stadium for Detour was inspired. Nichole's breakdown wasn't surprising when you think back to her Caviar incident. Kim might not have done diddly on the Roadblocks, but she certainly stepped up to the plate on the Detours. And they finished in my home town of Dallas. I-30 runs between downtown Fort Worth (where the Stockyards are at) and the finish line (I've never heard of Trammel Crow Park but it' appears to be in I-30 west of downtown Dallas). It's a nightmare during rush hour. I can see why Colin and Christies crazy town car driver took the break down lane.

The Teams

As I noted above, the Moms rocked. Two climbing competitions in the last 6, and each mom did one. They remained upbeat and competitive to the end. Brandon and Nichole started to wear on me the last leg, and at the rock climb, Nichole was almost salivating at the thought of the million. Colin and Christie remained amazing competitors which is why I was still rooting for them despite "the editing" that made him look bad. I did not want Chip and Kim to win - but only because they seem like they already have money and I'd rather someone who didn't get the million, otherwise I was rooting for them. They were the oldest, most cheerful and most gracious team and they kept up with the kids finally outdistancing them at the finish line.

Amazing! And I can't wait until season 6 starts.

First of all, I thought Karen & Linda deserved third place. But I guess repelling isn't a woman's sport but fourth place is better than last place so my hats are off to the bowling moms who should a never give up attitude when the going got rough.

Colin & Christine definately need counseling and an attitude adjustment as when they last week wanted to run people over after being ticked off at being yielded by Chip & Kim. Well, they should had expected to be yielded since they were the strongest. Sure I want to win but to run people over, that is a no-no.

I was wanting both Kim & Chip or Brandon & Nicole to win due to their Christian beliefs. But I hope and pray that Brandon & Nicole aren't living together because that is against God's laws.

He's just doing it for show because he didn't win. I don't think it takes away from Chip & Kim's winning though, when people do those things I take it with a grain of salt. ;) People will say or do anything just to try to get in the spotlight whether he really wants to marry her or not. ;) Those real showy types of "proposals" I don't even really take as a real proposal, people do stuff like that just for attention. I hate those kinds of showy type things too. ;) Proposals like that just seem so phony.
