Hello folks. Yes, some of us might have already gotten bored with my artificial intelligence related posts such as "The AI has learned Thomas Aquinas. Ask it some questions", however, this technology is engaging and good for us to use in certain circumstances. Today, I installed a bunch of medical textbooks onto onto my computer, which the artificial intelligence program, Mistral 7B has learned via retrieval augmented generation (RAG). One does not need to know what RAG is, but in summary, it allows one to talk with their PDF documents.

Folks, post your questions about medical science below. The AI should be done learning the medical science textbooks in a few days. Hopefully, by the weekend, we can all can have a lively chat about medicine and psychology. Welcome to Star Trek.

The machine is learning medicine, first by indexing the information, and once indexing reaches 100%, it begins the slow, hours or days-long process of embedding the info (learning the info).

I will get to those on the weekend, as the machine is still learning medical science. :) Also, for reference, most of the textbooks are from 2020 and before, but we will have to see how this works. Once the machine is done learning, I will put these questions into the machine, though the textbooks do not discuss safety stats as much as they should. I could try to download research papers into the AI, but textbooks are easier as everything is in one place and is more general.

Thank you.

I appreciate it.

Also, a lady in our church had her blood drawn as a routine procedure.

Immediately afterwards, she got a mallet or hammer finger.

Would you ask AI what happened please?

I will ask it also, but here is a legal disclaimer to protect myself: Artificial intelligence (Mistral 7B, ChatGPT, and others) is not meant to be a stand-in replacement for a medical professional. It is best for one to seek medical advice from a licensed physician.

But, I will ask the machine this weekend about this. Also, can you tell me how much blood has been drawn as well (in pints or mL) and the rough age estimate for this person, to give the AI more specific info? Maybe the doctors withdrew too much blood from her. For now, I will pray for her.

Thank you, my friend.

I don't know how much blood was drawn, but she is either 69 or 70 years old.

(We were in the same grade in school.)

GPT-4o has been trained on medical and psychological information.

I have a theory on Trump's pathological lying, what defines his psychopathology is not the nature of the lies, or the number of lies but on their transparency.
This indicates Trump shows no remorse, guilt or embarrassment when caught out lying and it is this lack of or limited emotional response that is found in psychopaths and sociopaths.

I posed this question to a clinical psychologist my sister who was largely in agreement but as a professional also recommended Trump would have to be analysed as there could other underlying disorders.

The other response came from GPT-4o.

What are the symptoms of spinal meningitis? An easy one. But a friend somehow caught it and died recently short time , fast. But how much did she suffer? I’m wondering. A dear lady, mother to all. She was over 80 and had more life in her until she caught this disease and the lord called her home. Thanks…

I will pray for your friend.

In the mean time, the AI is 40% done learning the medical textbooks (after a 12 hour period), so that means in another 10-20 or so hours, the machine will be done learning it, and I will plug this question into the machine. Once the embedding reaches 100%, the machine will be ready.

Oh, no don’t pray for her. She already passed. You could pray for het son who’s all alone in the world now. Maybe he got enough religion to find his own church. And I pray he does not stray to far if he doesn’t, because of his mom. She had great faith and was a wonderful person. She reconnected with him a couple- three years ago and he came up here to see her. He came to church a few times. I hope he is not bitter. I will pray for him right now…

She is in Heaven with Jesus above. I will pray for her son, that he navigates this rough time in his life, and that God guides him back to a church. What is her son's first name, so I can pray for him specifically?

About the spinal meningitis, if everything goes well, I should have the machine's answer about this disease on Saturday morning, as the machine is 58% done with learning the 19 medical documents. Once the question is asked to the machine, it takes 5-10 minutes to respond. If a YouTube video is running, then the AI takes around an hour to respond, as the video takes up RAM memory.

You don't have to ask GPT he does have some narcissistic traits which is not always a bad thing in CEO's and leaders.

I agree also, but I am afraid that this thread would get derailed into a political thread in a science subforum. But yes, the DSM-4 talks about these traits. Trump matched up to them such as NPD. Biden matches up to some DSM-4 traits as well such as dementia, back when I checked up the DSM when Biden was running before the summer of 2024.

I disagree people with narcissistic traits serve their own interests, you would hope political leaders serve their countries.
Trump's record as president speaks for itself he was not a good leader.

@AlexB23 sorry for derailing your thread.

Hello folks. Yes, some of us might have already gotten bored with my artificial intelligence related posts such as "The AI has learned Thomas Aquinas. Ask it some questions", however, this technology is engaging and good for us to use in certain circumstances.

A little bit disturbing.

You maybe sabotaging your own physical and mental development by relying too much on AI. You might be undervaluing the importance of "muscle memory" and your own ability to process information, generate ideas, and mentally reach out beyond the constructs of society that includes religion (and now includes AI).

Challenging the mind by formulating solutions to complex problems and analyzing data entirely in your head (Nikola Tesla did this) and engaging in as many complex physical activities as you can like gymnastics (or simpler things like salsa dancing) for example increase mental capacity and can improve or even negate symptoms of brain degenerative disease if genetically predisposed to it. Worse, neglect to challenge the mind may worsen symptoms of brain degenerative disease or get them early. These acquired traits are heritable and can be passed down to offspring and can lead to humanity's "devolution". You may not believe in evolution, but devolution on the other hand, is quite real.

Not trying to be off topic, in fact, I told you an effective method how to avoid / minimize symptoms of brain degenerative disease. You can test to see if "AI" can find those solutions to brain degenerative disease.

I agree, but we will not discuss this further, as this is not what the thread is about. Just testing the limits of AI.

You seem to moderate your own threads very tightly. Give some "breathing space". A little bit of slack can keep your threads alive and active longer and reach more people.

I'm just worried that people are relying too much on technology instead of building upon what is already here - the one in our heads. It may lead to trouble later on, how we perceive reality and the truth as we age and generations that will come after us.

Folks, post your questions about medical science below.

Back in the day, the MYCIN expert system was designed for medical diagnosis. So here are a couple of medical diagnosis questions for your AI system. [ Both are based on actual people I know. The people were correctly diagnosed and treated, and they're fine now, so you don't have to worry about your AI harming anyone by practicing medicine without a license. :) ]

1. Sally lives in the northeastern US. She lives in a town of 20,000 people, and her home is near a wooded area. In June 2017, she experienced symptoms of muscle aches, significant fatigue, and a small rash on one leg. What do you think is the most likely diagnosis for Sally? Explain the reasoning you used to arrive at that diagnosis. Is there any additional information you need to confirm your diagnosis?

2. Margaret lives in the northeastern US. She lives in a town of 20,000 people, and her home is near a wooded area. In July 2024, she experienced symptoms of headache, muscle aches, significant fatigue, a sore throat, and loss of appetite. What do you think is the most likely diagnosis for Margaret? Explain the reasoning you used to arrive at that diagnosis. Is there any additional information you need to confirm your diagnosis?
