Ok figured it out...bubbles appear around sentences if copy and pasted from external program. Kind of annoying but I guess I'll have to live with it.

The website may automatically be putting quote tags around it.

There's two different ways that the reply box works here. If you switch to the way where you see the HTML tags as you write a message, you may be able to remove those quote tags.

I'll be happy to give you more info if that doesn't make sense

All I had to do was "paste without formatting". Thanks for the advice anyway.

I got the alert about five minutes ago. It is a funny thing: I can fix computers and write a little code, but I often have trouble operating them.

Do you want to experiment with editing? If you post something and want to change it, click the three little dots that are just above where it says Reply for the post of yours that you want to edit

One of the options that come up will be Edit. Just click that and a box will open that has your post and you can make changes there and then just be sure to click save afterwards

Are you getting alerts for other threads?

You might check up near the top, just under the title. There should be a little box, and it might say "follow" or "unfollow"

You want it to say "unfollow" (that means you're currently following the thread, and you should get alerts)

Please let me know if that fixes it, if you wish
