After years of debate, I've finaly decided I want to get a tattoo. I just don't know what I wasnt to get. I know I want somthing that identifies me whith christ, and the most improtant thing is that I want somthing that lables me as a servent or slave. I'll take any ideas. I'm kinda lost here.

Make sure you know what quality the artist you go to is. By going to a few to see their work you can get ideas about what you want and if it fits in with their skills and talents.

Also think about who you are now and who you will be in 30-40 years. I'd love to say it doesn't matter where you get it but if you are going to ever have to be taken seriously by conservatives make sure you get it someplace you can cover.

The best thing to do is probably to find an artist whose work you like (make sure you see a portfolio) and talk over the sort of thing that you're thinking of so that he or she can draw up something custom for you.

I put this in the other forum too, but I'd suggest going to see an artist whose work you like and getting them to draw something up based on your ideas. Then you've got something to work with, and you can go with that or make some changes as you see fit.

What I would suggest is that if you really want a tattoo then you make sure you have enough money available for it's removal if you don't like it -I think it can be about 20,000 US dollars

I know it's Old Testament, but that should be enough for you to question, especially since there is nothing in the New Testament that makes this command invalid.

Given the above, I doubt getting a tattoo would be considered godly and modest.

Take the money that you would spend on a tatoo and give it to the service of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

That doesn't make any sense. He's already decided that he wants a tattoo. Giving his money away would be counterproductive.

I wouldn't get a tattoo, but sometimes they look cool on people.

Well, I don’t want any but I’m not against others having them. There are some bad places to get one though, your lower back is the worst place because they then cannot give a local anesthetic shot there because the needle pushes the ink in as well. Just don’t put one anyplace that is often where they stick you with needles especially at the lower spine.

If I were going to get a tattoo, I’d draw one myself. I say draw your own design and then find someone that can do an exact copy of your own work.

Shop around. Drawings are sort of like fingerprints or snowflakes - artists never draw the same line the same way.

Would everyone stop bikering! I made the dicision, I'm not unmaking it. This thread is not to discuss weather I should do it, it's to offer suggestions of designs that fit the criterea stated in the original post. So if you don't have a suggestion for a design, don't post

I hate to agree with the atheists, but we really are some of the most judgmental people on the planet. I start a post asking for suggestions for a tattoo that I have already made the decision to get, and all anyone wants to do is tell me how many rules I'm breaking. If you actually read the post, I'm doing this as a public profesion of my faith and commitment to christ. i'm not trying to get anything loud or conspicuis, but it is meant to be seen. And I truly believe that god will not have a problem with me getting a tattoo that glorifies him. So could everyone please get off my back, and if you dont have a suggestion for a design, be quiet.

Sounds like the obvious answer I know, but I'd suggest doing some Googling around on the interent at various tattoo sites, etc.

Another idea is to check out the local shops in your area either online or in person. This is what I did for last tattoo, and I found an excellent artist that way and also a great idea for my tattoo.
