• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

After years of debate, I've finaly decided I want to get a tattoo. I just don't know what I wasnt to get. I know I want somthing that identifies me whith christ, and the most improtant thing is that I want somthing that lables me as a servent or slave. I'll take any ideas. I'm kinda lost here.

I would advise against a tattoo, sure the artworks good but in ten years time that style of tattoo might not be your cup of tea anymore.

you want something to identify you with Christ then may i suggest you live your life according to the bible so you become christlike in your actions and deeds then you`ll know you belong to CHRIST and so will others.

god bless.

The whole point of the tattoo is perminecy. Don't think I made this decision on a whim. I am fully aware of the consiqueces of a tattoo. Please dont bother trying to convince me not to get a tattoo. I've made the dicision and I set this thread up for the reason stated in the original post, not to discuss weather i should get one.

If you want a tatoo to remember try this.

"Leviticus 19:28" People will ask you what it means, or read it, and then the bible to find it says this.

'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.

It was supposed to constructive. I wasn't trying to promote your tattoo, I was trying to promote your walk with Jesus. It was meant to be tongue in cheek, but really, what's more important, your will, or God's?

"Leviticus 19:27 Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."

"leviticus 19:19 Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material"

Do you have a beard? Is your shirt 100% wool?

I'v decided I want a visible brand on my body advertising that Christ owns me. I'm still unsure of the best way to go about expressing that message so I'm asking for suggestions

ok then why don`t you buy yourself an airbrush tattoo kit,you can try out different designs see how comfortable you feel with them before marking yourself permantly, seriously i know people who found a design they liked but once tattooed just didn`t seem to sit right.

I understand the argument. It means if someone is a christian, and they don't follow perfectly, then we ourselves do not have to try and follow what God has said.

Please be wary of the argument that your faith depends on the faith of others.

Ok, I apreciat everyone looking out for my best interest, but I'm no longer responding to anything other than a suggestion for a design that fits the criteria explained in my original post.

Hi there,

Here's a link where you can take a look at some tattoos. www.xtat.org It is for the Christian Tattoo Association. This should help you get some ideas. And if you don't see exactly what you are looking for perhaps it will spark some creativity and you can design your own.

That was what I did. I took my drawing in to the shop and the artist drew it up on a stencil. I had always wanted a tattoo and when my dad died I wanted to get something as a sort of tribute for him. So I took pieces of his heritage and combined them togeter. It is a viking ship with an Irish Trinity symbol on the sail and written underneath in Cherokee is "beside still waters".

Before you go under the gun make sure the design is completely what you want. Remember it's for life....well unless you go under the laser.;) Be sure the shop is neat and clean...here is another site with all the things you should look for in a good shop plus all the anwers to your tattoo questions. www.gettingatattoo.com

Hope this helps. Drop me a line when you pick a design I would love to hear about it.
