I would love to know what to say to an evolutionist who says that evolution follows closely to the second law, involving entropy? The way I understood it, evolution is a direct violation of the law of entropy. Right?

Not at all. The second law of thermodynamics, as you surely know, states that entropy tends to increase in closed systems. ( an example of a closed system would be a perfect thermos bottle - no energy gets in, nothing gets out.

Since this planet is far from being a closed system, given that it recieves massive amounts of energy from the sun, the SLOT does not apply.
