Christ is a creationist.
Actually, we're on His side. So? I mean, sure, it's a convenient way to get him on your side...
So what?
You guys think we're both wrong.
Sure:If only you had a consistent story we could agree to disagree on...
Sure:
IN THE BEGINNING, GOD
We wouldn't want to overload you guys with agreements, now; would we?66 books and you've stopped reading together at four words.
We wouldn't want to overload you guys with agreements, now; would we?
So Jesus referred to the story of Noah in His preaching and in so doing mentioned the name of the principle character. That's a fact.Sorry, I'll believe Jesus over you any day.
Jesus not only confirmed the story, He mentioned Noah by name.
That makes your words false.
He believed every word of Scripture. All the prophecies concerning Himself were fulfilled, and He believed beforehand they would be.So Jesus referred to the story of Noah in His preaching and in so doing mentioned the name of the principle character. That's a fact.
Perhaps you could lead us through your reasoning: How do you conclude, based on that fact, that the text of the story is of necessity 100% accurate literal history, rather than some other form of historical narrative or perhaps a different genre altogether?
Yes, I understand all that, agree with it. My question was, how do you get from there to 100% accurate literal history? Why not some other form of historical narrative or some other genre entirely? He believed every word of Scripture. All the prophecies concerning Himself were fulfilled, and He believed beforehand they would be.
John 5:44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? on whom you have set your hope. He wrote of me. If you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
He quoted Scripture as the basis for his own teaching. He warned against replacing it with something else, or adding or subtracting from it. It is very clear that Jesus believed every word of Scripture to be inspired by God and thus infallibly true. That includes the verses that make it clear we were created in the image of God, and did not evolve from plankton.
Sounds like everything after after verse 34 is filler.
The rest of the Bible from Gen 2:4 to the end of Revelation, adds details to the events of the 7 Days of Creation, shown in the first 34 verses of Genesis. God has but 6 Creative Days/Ages and One Festival Day, the Age of Joy, the 7th Day, which is Eternity. This knowledge opens up the mysteries of understanding the entire Bible.
You're still wrong, just like every other time you've brought this up, so let me repeat again. Genesis 1:21 clearly states:
"And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that moveth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and God saw that it was good. "
Which of course DOESN'T agree with a LUCA, since literally every Creationists purports "after their kind" as individually and specially created. Also, the biblical domains of life have always included land, sea and air, with the Land animals being the most prominent and pivotal domain given this is where us Humans would rule over these creations from, exactly as Genesis depicts in Genesis 1:21-25 The order in which the Bible depicts them is their order of importance (hence us Humans last). They have NOTHING to do with the order of their mention in the bible as correlation with reality, unless you think Birds came before the Land Animals they descended from? So much for Scientifically accurate, we can set that aside as "Answered" yet again...
God's Truth is in his handiwork (read: Reality) if he exists, not some unknown author who didn't understand how the universe worked. I trust in Reality, which would put me closer to your God than anyone reading an unknown author's second hand account of God's creation that's been copied, translated, copied again and reinterpreted for thousands of years before getting to us.
More of your unsubstantiated reinterpreted additions to scripture. IF reality ever purports your God, then yes, I think atheists and agnostics will believe he exists.
What's happening just as he told you in Gen 1?
Gen 1:28 is God blessing Adam and Eve, telling them to be fruitful & multiply & have dominion over everything, which is a Job Done already. They're enjoying eternity in Hell now, and have been for quite a while.
Gen 1:29 Equally, God informs Adam and Eve of the herb yielding seeds, and fruit of a tree yielding seed, which would be for food - Also done and dusted, (i.e. we already have those if you're unaware)...
Gen 1:30 God tells Adam and Eve that everything animal gets to eat all these herbs & fruits too (you know, Lions, Velociraptors, T-Rex, etc.), because he said so.
then finally, Gen 1:31 God sits back and admires his handiwork & left Adam and Eve to take it from there.
All of this has already happened according to the Bible.
Not my version, it's one of probably hundreds of versions that are actually the true versions, just ask their Christian followers, they'll tell you so. Why should anyone accept yours as any more correct over theirs? You simply don't have a convincing case.Your altered version of Scripture does not agree with what was actually written
Sure, Let's use your special version then, though I don't believe I've made any errors. Here is the same verse in the KJV. IF you wish to understand what I'm trying to say, used the KJV so you can avoid making the same error over and over again.
No it doesn't, as demonstrated in a sec...Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after Their (Trinity) kind, and every winged fowl after His (Jesus) kind: and God saw that it was good.
'
The above verse AGREES with Science that "every living creature" came forth from Water.
Are you telling me that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are a single-celled microbe that 'they' modelled the source of all life forms on this planet from (i.e. as you say: "after Their (Trinity) kind")? You make much less sense every time you write something. Then of course you have to explain why Birds, and in later verses, all the Beasts are also modelled off "His (Jesus) kind" seperately, which might indicate you think Jesus either flies, and/or walks on all fours before assuming human form? Could you explain?https://www.smithsonianmag.com/.../behold-luca-last-universal-common-ancestor-life... That includes whales, fowl and every other living creature which was announced July 25, 2016 by today's Scientists.
Why not? Firstly, I don't think it is scientifically true, so there's a big tell-tale sign right there. Secondly, even if you're right about it being a 'scientific Truth' (I'm FAR from conceding this point, along with many more Christians than not too, I imagine), then the fact that there's way more believers of even the KJV that don't accept your interpretations would have to indicate the lack of clarity and meaning that a God would surely have. If men had written it, then this difference in ways to interpret these passages (like every other passage in the Bible) is easily explained, so on the available facts (that there's thousands of different Christian denominations, all believeing different things based on their reading of the same texts), it'd have to have been written by men. You fail yet again.Who do you suppose wrote the correct scientific Truth more than 3k years ago? Could it have been a man? Of course not.
There's no 'scientific Truth' in this verse. Unless you believe 'they (Trinity)' are microbial, of course. It's empirical (testable) evidence of the Literal God since He is the only being Who knew this scientific Fact so long ago.
But none of it does! Literally the more we find out through Science, the less it comports with Genesis 1, the Exact Opposite of what you say.
You are misreading or adding to scripture something that isn't there, as I'll point out next:False, since we live today at Gen 1:27 because God is STILL creating Adam/mankind in His Image, which is in Christ Spiritually.
Do you agree that even your special (KJV) translation of the Bible at Genesis 1:28 says "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, ..." - i.e. Past Tense! This has already happened, so you are wrong here too (what a surprise!Gen 1:28-31 is prophecy of events which will NOT take place until Jesus returns at the end of the present 6th Day/Age UNLESS you can tell us when, in the past, Humans had dominion or rule over mosquitoes, viruses and Angels. 1Co 6:3
And there's no evidence it can happen at the drop of a hat either. That you keep insisting that unevidenced things 'will' happen, doesn't mean it's possible. Come back when you have evidence. Also, tell us when in the past bears, lions, and every other creature were changed into Vegetarians as Gen 1:30 states. This has NEVER happened in the past and it won't happen until Jesus returns as Isaiah 11:7 confirms and shows the fulfillment of the prophecy of Gen 1:28-31. Amen?
Actually, we're on His side.
And they don't?The deeds need to match the words, AV.
And they don't?
Then get [back] in the program and show us how to do it.Not when I see Christians using Jesus as merely a tool to promote their own agenda.
I'd say he already has. You've mistakenly assumed he had to 'get [back] in the program' to do it.Then get [back] in the program and show us how to do it.
