• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

hi,
how is everyone today?

 Katey - i think being safe is the most important, so that is definitely the right decision. keep us updated on what's going on.

Sabrina - that's great that you talked it through with DH, and it sounds like you have really resolved to try to work on things - that's fantastic and really brave. Have you thought about what kind of help your going to get? having lots of support should be really useful.

How are you, Kerin? It is my course that is really overwhelming me... there has just been a crazy amount to do and no time to sleep. Things should start to calm down a little for a few weeks now though...

I know Chava, I have struggled seven and a half years, this year fully over will be eight w/ anorexia/bulimia/EDNOS....its a looooong hard struggle. Its not easy to overcome any of this, its an addiction....but however its one you can take control of. YOU CAN REGAIN POWER IN YOUR LIFE FROM THIS! It says you have a little girl, dont you want to be happy and healthy for her? Dont you want her to see her mom in good spirits and not going through this nightmare? Its well worth trying to come past this...its not an overnight cure, but you can always find a right attitude to kick this thing in the bum. Im going into treatment because this has controlled me so long, now I need to STEP up and control this thing..and leave it in the dust. It will always haunt me Im sure, but I dont want it consuming me anymore. I ask the Lord to take this in his hands, its no longer mine, but his.

That kind of thinking gets you started down the path. Skipping meals or using laxatives will kill you. We all know how loud the ED voices can seem, and how good they sound to us in moments of weakness. Stay strong.

I hope everyone else here is going well
