The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. because i have to believe something can help me...yesterday's session was horrid, but i was ok afterwards. it hit me tonight.
as i lay crying, curled up in a bean bag, I was just saying "Jesus, Jesus," over and over again... finally, I said, "Jesus, take this pain away"...
His answer: "You have to feel it first."
to think that this is all painful enough to just keep coping with everyday, and I've got to go back thru all the stuff I've had buried for so long, makes me wanna stay curled up in my beanbag forever...but even so, I have had a few insights as to why i am the way i am about somethings, so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Keep going everyone - no matter how it feels or what it looks like, know that you're not alone, and there's heaps of people praying for us even if we don't know who they are.

I know I've not been here very much, but I still think about y'all... I've been so busy lately with school, it's overwhelming. Plus, it's getting (too) close to finals and that makes me uncomfortable and VERY stressed... talk about panic attacks! I've been having, on average, two a day when on campus. :-(
Lisa, feeling the pain in order for it to go away is a very true statement. If you keep burying it away, you're going to have to deal with it forever. If you dig it out of its darkness and push it into the light, then you're going to be able to overcome it, especially with God's help.
I wish I could help more, I really do, but sometimes you just have to go at it alone. That sounds harsh, but it's a lesson I've learned the hard way. People can't always be there to guide you and tell you what to do or how to manage your life. You've just got to push off and be your own person for a little while... not to say that we aren't all here cheering you on and encouraging you in your walk!! * Arnold gives snugglies to everyone.

hope your all ok. sorry havent been in for a while am in hospital again i just popped out for # hours home leave. things r a bit mad right now. i'm all over the place and really really struggling. but hey i'll be fien as usual.
i saw a new consultant on wednesday he wasnt tohappy with things at al. he wont take me of the section just at the minute and is thinking of putting me on meds. but will have to wait and see with that one.

Well, I had two Thanksgivings to go to and a Christmas party! That's a lot of food!
I just tried to do the best I could and not stress too much (yeah right!). Feeling quite large at the moment. It's getting into the final weeks of class so the stress it going to sky rocket here pretty soon as well. I'm so ready for a break from it all! I'm glad to hear you're keeping with the counselling Lisa!

Not bad really, thanks! My husband was at work all weekend and we had an ice storm here so he couldn't even make it home for the nights, so I was just me and the girls holed up all weekend!
By the end of the day yesterday I was pretty tapped out with being the only parent, so for once it's kind of nice to be at work!
I'm glad that you got through it okay... and I can feel your pain on the final exams thing!! I think I'm going to have to figure out some way to work on stress management, since it's been getting the best of me. I've upped my anti-anxiety med, tripled it in fact, with my NP's agreement, and so that helps some, although it tends to put me to sleep if I use the two extra pills. Ari
How're things going? I miss "talking" with you. :-( I've been really bad about being on here lately and I feel badly about that. It's just been SO FREAKING BUSY and I don't really know what to do with all of the busyness.Katey

Well bored actually. I finished my last assignment for classes and sent it in. I have just one more class to study for but I didn't bring any of the notes with me to work today and work is really slow so I'm just killing time right now.
