• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi everyone! How are y'all today? THings here are ok - just really hot outside.

I talked to my psych about the whole eating thing - he didn't get upset or anything :) He is gonna work with me to make sure I don't go too far or get out of control with the restricting patterns or excessive exercise. I must admit it is a relief to know that I am not in this alone.

Huge squishy hugs to all!

hi everyone,

i had a really scary experience today - i almost passed out because of not eating as i was walking home from a study day with chadders. I hadn't really been hungry all day and it was only when we were walking back to go home i started feeling really nauseous , shaky and sick.

Luckily i recognised what was wrong and when i tested my blood sugar after even drinking fanta it was six point four so i was pretty sick because i assume my blood sugar dropped too low from not eating. I could have been in real danger if chadders wasn't with me - it scared me ALOT and has really challenged me to look after myself.

I haven't been sleeping or eating properly and working way too hard with uni and I'm exhausted and as mum said something had to give.

:hugs: to anyone who wants them

- Shaz

Oh honey, not eating is so dangerous. You're lucky you didn't pass out this time and were able to figure out what was wrong, but what if it happens again when no one is there to help you? That scares me so much. Even if you aren't hungry, try to drink something. Even if it's just sticking propel packets into water, it gives you electrolights that help keep your blood sugar up. I have to drink that when I work out because I've cut out a lot of sugar from my diet so I'll get a sudden gluclose drop in the middle of working out and almost pass out. It's freaky when it happens. *snuggles*
