They are being exploited. Wisdom tells us so. Your scientific minded view is the wrong formula for morals, bioethics, or sociology.

They chose the job. The knew what the job would entale. They can quit at anytime. Those factors mean they are not being exploited.

This is they naive PC view of 'Everythings ok people, nothing to see here, just move along!'. Its not so in the real world, thats the garbage the people behind the strippers tell them to think. How do i know? I've spent some time in the lifestyle surrounding the buisness. The whole 'they can get out when ever they want' is a lie, the whole buisness is setup against that very thing. Dont make statements from what you heard on some garbage tv show.

Then they shouldn't have become strippers in the first place. I do not sympothize with them. How's that for PC, Mr. Negetive?

Either way, they are employees now to the job they chose, and not making bad money, either. It may be damaging to their self esteem, but if someone doesn't know that may happen with that job by now, then they haven't been listening. So why start preaching now?

Exploitation of women in a misogynist worldview.

I love to see all the people out there supporting strippers because it's "empowering" to women. Just awesome.

Gaston
I am no self-hating misogynist, let me assure you.

Who is really being exploited? If anyone, it's the men. They empty their wallets just because they're so desperate to see a naked woman. The whole business takes advantage of guys' raging hormones.

Of course, this is totally neglecting the fact that there are male strippers as well.

So now you've gone from making unsupported opinionated statements to just plain indiferrence. Wow. A fine backbone to any debate.

Opinonated is correct. Everything on this thread is an opinon. The same goes for you. Yet you defend it with such intensity that you make it out to seem like you're trying to present facts.

I don't want to hear any stories about how you spend a time in the "underbelly" of the stripper world and survived. Doesn't interest me. You think your opinon represents the community of exotic dancers?

And you're not one to talk about giving unsupported opinonated statments.

You gave an opinon, and so did I. Don't try to debate mine in hopes to gain prestige with others and make yourself sound more...learned on the matter. :)

I'm done with this discussion cause I've been warned enough about my posts. Though I'd love to go down in a blaze of glory, I'm quite not done here, thanks.

Sounds like YOU are the one making up statements. I've known quite a few strippers, and several prostitutes. They are all free to get out whenever they like. Several of them have, for one reason or another. Others remained due to the excellent money they make.

Actually, I haven't heard TV show talking about strippers at all, all that I know comes from persons I know.

The only hard part to say good bye to is the money; a classmate of mine did that during summer to pay off her student loan; she ended up with so much money, she took the last month of the summer off to travel in Thailand.

Another Christian girl I know personally took the job at 19 quits at 21. It was more a statement to her parents and she really didn't need the money. It was not at all difficult to quit.

I had a fling with a "pimp" (that's what I call him anyways ^^;) a few years back; he is really charismatic, and sexually insatiable... I used to tease him about getting on with all the hot women he works with, but he swears it's a really bad idea to get involved with them, even a playful slap on the bum is off limit. He just instructs, plan effective ways to work the girls during the paid hour, that's all.

The OP doesnt say "Who knows a stripper, let us know?", does it?

You're right, it doesn't. But you know what? Threads evolve. The subject changes, people go off on tangents and explore related things. And that's a good thing. Everyone just responding to the OP with no actual discussion is a bad thing, a boring thing.

So don't try to change the subject because you you were called on your totally unsupported statement about the strippers you knew.
