George, George. Please listen. You're assuming that everyone who gives an interpretation has a real gift. Someone can be a Christian and have the Holy Spirit but NOT have a particular gift. It's the same with preachers. There are a lot of Christians, and all can have the Holy Spirit, yet how many of them are truly called to preach?

Do you understand how there is a difference? It's like with different interpretations of scripture. Just because one Christian has one interpretation and one has another doesn't mean that only one has the Holy Spirit. Maybe one is correct, maybe the other, and maybe neither. But they still both have it. They're just not operating closely enough that both are hearing and understanding the same thing yet.

This is only trying to excuse away the differing ways members "agree in the spirit" and does nothing to hide the fact that it's still nothing more than conjecture and opinion....albeit presumably based upon good intentions. Not too mention the fact that it's makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Amen. Good verses. There are New Testament references as well, but I believe this is where Paul got the analogy from to begin with.

George, both of these arguments are often for the one receiving the interpretation to confirm or deny. The one who received the dream will know best if it rings true (i.e. "makes sense") or not.

Where is the "suck upon the breast of the word" implication in this? You've ripped out a verse from Isaiah that mentions "milk" and "breast" and are trying to twist it into what you want it to mean.

So basically, the "interpreter" that figures out what the dreamer wants to hear and makes most sense.....wins. Got it.
