  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So when a person leaves the Christianity you embrace and believes it all a "lie", I'm guessing you think they are simply confused and lost, or having been decieved. But apparently to you, when someone leaves mormonism and thinks it's all a lie, it just must be, rather than realizing that faithful mormon's would think the same as you about a lost brother.

It would be good if double standard and hypocritical thinking patterns were not used by critics and anti-mormons when addressing another religion that person doesn't agree with. It doesn't look good or wise. Because the other side could say the exact same thing that has been said here. But fortunately, most LDS learn not to use those kinds of thinking patterns.

It is instead better to argue issues with sound logic and evidence, rather than ad-hominem personal feelings.
How can you make so much sense?:p
