I just sewed a pair of trousers, well, most of them. It's a 'muslin', aka a mockup that may or may not be wearable, made from cheap cotton fabric that was $3 (about $1.50 US)/m (a bit more than a yard). It was all going well until I sewed the inseams...both of them...inside out. Sigh. I'm 3/4 unpicked now and going to bed and sewing the rest tomorrow! They look good though, nice and fitted through the hips then wide legged

And it really is a good day. Pay day, took the second half of the test today, shipmates are turning twenty-one tonight, and my new parish is having their Russian Festival this weekend. Rumor has it that matushka volunteered me for grilling of some kind, but I don't mind because I've not cooked anything other than pop-tarts in a microwave since March. Suffice to say that my cooking-lust has been running high.
We get our test results back on Monday, but this morning our teaching team leader (four teachers in our team) said that I did "good" on the speaking test. This man never gives me compliments!

haha, that's mean...

It's dress up & eat cake night at my favourite cafe - halloween isn't really a thing here, but noone objects to dressing up and eating sweets so we they have a party every year I'm half-dressed up so far, my makeup's done but I won't dress up as a cat (complete with 3D tail) until I've eaten dinner.

found out why the Afgani green tea is so amazing. it's some blend of Chinese and Indian tea leaves, made incredibly hot, and with a ton of sugar thrown in. and I mean a ton. like if your cup does not look like a beach at high tide, you made it wrong.
