• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Maybe those trolls who busted through doors in Kazaddum?

You mean Khazad-dûm? Pretty good for a girl who sucks at spelling, what's your excuse for a teacher? And no, I suspect it is an inside joke that no one is going to share the meaning of....

What's my excuse for a teacher? LOL...think about that grammar there, GL :p You excuse my spelling of an obscure underground dwarf land, and I'll forgive that awkward phrasing! :p

I fully admit my comprehension of grammar is horrid. You think anybody ever says, "gee, I hope the person responsible for figuring out why I am sick understands grammar?"

In all seriousness my grammar and spelling has actually improved since finishing school because I realize my understanding is so poor. Sad I know, but it was worse. My teachers always stated if they understood what I meant they didn't care if it was right and thus never corrected it in my papers. You should speak to your colleagues and chew them out for that one.

I actually work under that premise as well, GL. I work on grammar a great deal with the kids, but I do emphasize that getting down their ideas first is paramount. We can clean up the grammar, add transitions, remove ramblings, add more, and generally edit and revise later.

I think the death of cursive writing is a sad one in public education. I'm glad my kids are in a Lutheran private school where they start cursive in third grade!

Notre Dame is Catholic, dude. You can't pull for them since you're Orthodox. You'll have to pull for St. Dimitri City College of Beauty in Little Rock as your only choice. :p

Whoohoo! Notre Dame is going to the BSC bowl.

Only question now is whether we will play the Bulldogs or Crimson Tide on Jan 7.

Go Irish!

I'm just kiddin'

I like Notre Dame just fine. I'm a Fresno State Bulldog myself, but back East if I had to pull for someone, it'd be the Irish, too

And hey, it's hard to take the Catholic out of the boy....

Notre Dame is me, it's mine, I own it, along with every other Domer, and Lou Holtz, and Brian Kelly. :p

Go Irish!

Things are okay. Presentations in Arabic this week, a culture test and another test of some kind. Eleven more days and I'll be home for two weeks doing almost nothing. Okay, I'll talk to the Palestinian lady at church to keep my Arabic up, but other than that I'll have two weeks of just ENGLISH!
