Hello Emmanuel, Kyriaki Hi Anhelyna Prince Caspian was just that a young prince immature and a waste of my time... Well, I liked the story but too much time spent in the movie on the romance between him and the other little one. My daughter liked it. That is enough for me... I have no idea about the symbolism... since I have not read the book.

Elizabeth, she has not read the book either. She is reading something else for now and for summer reading she will have the "Way of a Pilgrim" I had enough with fiction... All I heard was how cute the Prince was...and in reality I do not think she really got anything out of it...The way the movie industry presents stories is alsways in a "harlequin" mode or is it me??

I hope the next one will not be as dissapointing...

Isn't The Way of the Pilgrim a bit deep of reading for a pre-teen? Why not just give her the text on popular culture and it's application of cultural and religious icons (very pertinent to my line of study) to read?

I'm single again for the time being, partly because there's no practical way we can get married in the next year or so and partly because we're busy learning to be Orthodox, let alone being able to hold up a relationship too. That's the short version. So not bitter, but not fun. We are still close friends, or we will be when the smoke clears. At the moment we're just trying to figure out where to go next.

I'm sorry to hear that Kyriaki. if it helps- and from personal experience I do know that it doesn't help much- you're young (and I can say that because I am also young ) and it is wise to be patient and allow the Lord to give you time to grow a bit more into the person He wants you to become! When the time is right it will all come together (or so I have been told )

i haven't read it, but i started to and it's really different....

I just read the commentary by Professor Mattingly, and yes, the plot was changed for the movie, so you will find a difference between the movie and the book.

However, Mattingly says that Peter fights the good fight against pride, and so watch the movie again (when it comes out on DVD) and notice Peter. The children also seem to lose faith in Aslan (which was also the theme in the book), but regain it. We do that in our own faith walks and as we struggle, we become more solid in the faith.

weird is such a relative term. Is Michael the Iconographer weird? I'm inclined to say that he is undoubtedly weird. But then those who think he is weird might think that a person who would choose to wear a clown wig, and a barrel for pants is weird. I would, however, maintain that this is perfectly normal. Since barrels were first invented, they have been known to serve as a substitute for a misplaced pair of pants. Now granted most people would remove the fish from the barrel before fashioning a pair of pantaloons from said barrel, but what can I say? I'm a little weird.

Why is it that *sometimes* my posts don't appear immediately but I get this message saying my post will first have to be approved by a moderator? And then it appears like an hour later?
