Oh, and every time I eat spaghetti, after two hours I'm starving all over again. It's almost like eating "anti-food". I feel hungrier than I think I would if I had eaten nothing at all.
That has to do with the glycemic index value of spaghetti. Since it is a higher GI value, that is why you experience the tiredness and hungry within no time.

I know, and weight loss isn't a pressing issue with me, I'm just not anxious to gain any. But I've been getting tons of fiber lately and it has been kind of upsetting my stomach, so I thought I'd try some low-carb stuff instead.

How about tofu, and things with soy protein? Also nuts.

Oh, and don't forget things like shrimp, clams, octopus, calamari, lobster, crab are lenten. So even though they are expensive (cheaper if you buy and prepare yourself) Maybe like once a week it would be good for you to eat some lenten seafood.
