I've never gotten a speeding ticket, but that's not to say I haven't deserved some!

I fell asleep while driving when I was 16 years old. I clipped a bank (NOT a building, but a curve) and the car flipped about four times. I don't remember a thing about it. God must have been with me :amen: , though, because I walked out of that accident without a scratch, and the police officer told me that he had been expecting to scrape me up off the road! I did get a ticket for that, but it was for failure to control, not speeding (and my only ticket!).

So, after that, my next car was a Mustang. That is NOT a good idea. I decided to see how fast that baby could go. The speedometer tacked out at 85mph but I was going MUCH faster than that on a regular basis. What can I say - it had a powerful engine underneath that hood and I was stupid.

The cops said you were racing? Well, were you? I take it from your post that you don't believe you actually violated any laws?

I'm trying to shape up my driving. I commute now 5 days a week to college, 1 hour one way. I carpool with 2 others (4 starting next week) so I've rode with my share of bad drivers. I sometimes wonder if I'll make it through the year alive!
no, i was on the main strip in our city and im not dumb enough to race on that road.

i was going about 40 tho. If i fight i dont think i will win due to my past record.

Well I've "technically" never had a speeding ticket but think I've probally topped everyones traffic violations. Wreckless, Careless, and Drag racing all on the same ticket! At that point, the police grab their guns lol.. kind of silly, but well, thats what happened.

As odd as it may sound, when I'm in my car I'm nagged on for either following the speed limit or just going with the flow of traffic, as long as that flow isn't but a little over the speed limit. On a bike though, I'm out for fun. Used to think that as long as I didn't harm anyone else on the road (and I was extremely careful of that), juggled my points/risks(lawyer fees) to keep it all affordable, it was all right because I'd justified my breaking the traffic violations.

Started having a nagging feeling that I really should show some more respect towards traffic rules as it just didn't seem Christian to basically flaunt the law regardless of how I justified it, got plain bored with riding on the street (except for a few country roads, on/off ramps, stuntin in parking lots, etc), and couldn't help but worry that one day some "grandma" who "questionably" shouldn't be driving, might get startled if I weaved past her in a turn, in-between cars, etc.

Gave up street riding, found road racing on the track, fell in love. Sadly, I had to zip tie a license plate on one of my bikes last week until my car is repaired. Other than riding a wheelie for kicks on the highway for a wee bit when theres no one around, I've lost all interest in playing on the street. I'm a safety-nazi though so commuting on a sport bike with boots, gloves, leathers, etc. during the summer really isn't fun.
