And what is wrong with loving to 'talk'...You know, no matter what you say or don't say someone will have something to SAY...So what do you do? You keep on saying what you feel to say anyway...If you love to talk, it is a gift from God to be used for his Glory..you are probably called to use your mouth to Glorify him however he sees fit...So...don't apologize for what God has given you. :cool:You know, ALL is truly well with my soul....It truly is, I have looked over and seen the Promised Land brother.....it is all well with my soul.....The wildnerness has not taken me out, but made me trust, and love and know God in a deeper way..........it is well with my soul...:amen:

Yep, that's the thing, just keep learning and doing, once we stop learning and doing, we can only go down...

LOL, I'm thinking what most people here don't know about us is that we mostly disagree with each other on doctrinal things. No, you and I have disagreed on alot of things but I still enjoy your company, and I will always say this about you, you do have the heart of Jesus in you so I know I can always call you sister!

But talking is an art, you can't just blabber away. You have to make points. One thing I can't stand about some people is when they talk on and on and on without ever making a point.

Ok, I wont apologize for my mouth. :)
That's nice to hear you are well within your soul. That is a big part of being a Christian you know? God did not create us his sons and daugthers to be empty hearted you know what I mean. Some people want you to feel guiltly or wrong for saying such a thing, but if being well in my soul is wrong, I don't ever want to be right.

I think I understood that all. :)

No, I know what your saying ;)

I never have looked at disagreements as being something bad. Disagreements are a chance to connext with people and as long as there is mutual respect and an influx of God's love in the conversation, only good will come out of it, regardless on whether or not an agreement is reached.

You are one of the few who can disagree and still be friendly..Most people, usually the immature get an attitude and take it all 'personal'....Good to know you are one of the mature ones. I just personally don't debate much anymore, God is pulling me away from it...unless he is specifically telling me too...

I think the influence of the dominionists and their latter rain beliefs has become so common in recent years, that many people are now looking for a powerful and effective end times church. I believe this a huge error, with only a little truth.
.

Hello There:wave:

What is a domionist? Are they the people who teach we are going to take the whole world for Jesus and then present it to him when he returns? I think I have heard that teaching, just checking.

...The Great End Time Revival has already started..Unfortunately, many are expecting it to be 'revival' as usual, where we meet in churches and continue to 'master 'doing church' services'. ...

Hello There:wave:

I can witness to the 'church services' attitude. But I cant see that attitude changing anytime soon, at least in this country. That might just be me, but I think that anything outisde of the formal blueprint is going to involve only a minority of believers. Small groups meeting in homes and that sort of thing. The denominations are powerful and rich organisations and I cant see them giving it up anytime soon.

There was a man called Andrew Strom who taught on revival in the end times. Some of his stuff is thought provoking.

God Bless You:wave:

Well yes and no ;)

The subject of last days is always complex, and so people often don't know, or can't explain, why they believe what they do; me included.

But having discussions like this, help me to think about the issues and search the scriptures for answers.

I think the influence of the dominionists and their latter rain beliefs has become so common in recent years, that many people are now looking for a powerful and effective end times church. I believe this a huge error, with only a little truth.

What's surprised me, as I researched the dominionists, is how their latter rain beliefs (which were branded heresy by the Assemblies of God in 1959 btw) have had such a widespread impact on most of the modern charismatic/Pentecostal church. Scarey stuff...

.
Can I ask what your opinion on the dispensationalist view is? Personally I suspect it is far more wide spread and also more dnagerous.

Hi Nephil,

I'm interested, what makes you think there will be 'a great end time revival just before Jesus comes again'?

Thanks,
Simon

I think the greatest revival will be after the Lord Jesus comes back.

When he returns the Jews will mourn for the one they have pierced and all Israel will be saved. Then when Christ reigns from Jerusalem for a thousand years the nations will go up to Jerusalem year on year.

Note that this scripture refers to the time after the Lord has returned:

Zechariah 14:17 NIV
If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.

Zechariah 14:9 NIV
The LORD will be king over the whole earth.

That is when the greatest revival of all time will occur. When the Lord is King over the whole earth!

God speed the day. At the moment the Kingdom has no king, so 'Come Lord Jesus and take your throne!'.

Hi Markus,

I believe in a general dispensational view, and think the scriptures support:

A pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Immediately followed by:

A 7 year tribulation, when Israel will again become God's representative people on earth (Daniel's 70th year)

The second coming of Christ will occur at the end of the tribulation. Followed by:

1000 year reign of Christ.

The 'traditional' dispensationlist view is certainly losing ground to a rapidly growing dominionist perspective.

What makes you think dispensationalism is more dangerous?

peace,
Simon

In a 'nut shell' you are right. :)

I highly recommend you do a little online research/reading about dominionism, from both pro and con perspectives, because this belief is infiltrating the charismatic church in a huge way.

Once accepted, it subtly changes the whole focus and even the structure of churches.

Dominionist belief, thought (and spirit) were behind:

The Toronto blessing
Brownsville
Lakeland (Yes Todd Bentley is a big time Dominionist, as were all the leaders supporting him)

et al...

Simon

The different treatment of the Jews from the rest of the body of Christ and the clinging to the Abrahamic convenant as a mere promise of real estate cause the believers to promote continued violence in the middle east.

It promotes a dangerous view of Christ as his sacrifice on the cross wasn't a sufficient victory, they believe he has to return as a warrior (like the Jews expected the first time, only to be surprised) to slay his enemies.

The doctrine of a pre-rapture falling away encourages Christians now to give up the fight and long for Christ's return. It is escapism and literally creates people who are two heavenly minded they are no earthly good.

The general glorification of violence as seen in the 'Left Behind' series and all their guns! Our battle isn't against flesh and blood.

I also think it's an unhealthy and inaccurate way to read scripture. Adding gaps and repeating events to force scripture into a narrow literal interpretation.

Hello:wave:

Then I have heard that view before. Its seems very encouraging, but never happens. Usually when I'm given it I ask about this scripture:

Matthew 7:13-14 NIV
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it"

There isnt an answer.

Markus, You've been watching the BBC far too much :)
Stop watching that propaganda and get yourself some deprogramming ;)

Throughout scripture the Jews are 'treated differently'. Does this upset your notions of fairness, socialism and political correctness?

It's not merely about real-estate. The territory is an issue however. The violence WILL continue until:

1. Israel is completely destroyed by the muslims, and their supporters.
2. The Lord returns to defend Israel, and puts and end to the violence.

Guess which one the bible says will happen?

It promotes a dangerous view of Christ as his sacrifice on the cross wasn't a sufficient victory, they believe he has to return as a warrior (like the Jews expected the first time, only to be surprised) to slay his enemies.

Markus, Are you a pacifist? Do you think God is a pacifist? Read your bible again.

The doctrine of a pre-rapture falling away encourages Christians now to give up the fight and long for Christ's return. It is escapism and literally creates people who are two heavenly minded they are no earthly good.

I agree that it causes Christians to 'long for Christ's return'. Which is what we are told to do, several times in the New testament. I don't agree with the rest.

The general glorification of violence as seen in the 'Left Behind' series and all their guns! Our battle isn't against flesh and blood.

I haven't read the books or seen the movie, and don't intend to. Christian money making rubbish IMHO.

I also think it's an unhealthy and inaccurate way to read scripture. Adding gaps and repeating events to force scripture into a narrow literal interpretation.

How is it unhealthy and inaccurate? It is not a mere literal interpretation, but uses context and genre. It's the most logical and consistant way to interpret scripture, the same way that NT writers interpreted OT scripture and prophecy.

peace,
Simon

Hello:wave:

On the other hand, some Christians, knowing that th Lord is coming soon and that time is limited are encourged to fight harder, making the most of every opportunity.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming (2 Peter 3: 11-12)

Does anyone have any thoughts on how we can speed its coming and therefore His coming?

Are you yawning, or yearning?

:)

Footnote:

Or possibly, “striving for,” but the meaning “hasten” for σπουδάζω (spoudazw) is normative in Jewish apocalyptic literature (in which the coming of the Messiah/the end is anticipated). Such a hastening is not an arm-twisting of the divine volition, but a response by believers that has been decreed by God.

It's not that you are going to FORCE God to speed it up. That's ridiculous.
