I'm 50 km (30 miles) north of Pusan (Busan). There are lots of Russians there.

Hey! Nothing wrong with Itaewon, as long as you stay on the main drag, and off "The Hill." Some good shopping there. I have bought about 2 dozen different Christian ties there for about ₩3,000 apiece.

It's the large population of foreingers that drives me away. Then again, I've only ever been to Itaewon once in the evening. There did seem to be some cool shops there. Maybe I'll go in the day the next time that I'm in Seoul.

My husband is being stationed there, and since I couldn't go with him through official channels, I convinced my home university to let me go as an exchange student.
I think it will be an excellent opportunity; I'm a linguistics student with a concentration in Asian languages.

My son is enroute to Pusan today (via Seoul, via San Francisco.) He had some pre-trip jitters when I drove him to the airport yesterday, but I guess that's only natural when you're going to live in a different country for a year.

I hope teaching there will be a wonderful experience for him.

Is he a strong Christian? There are a few English churches in Busan.

If he doesn't like Korea, he's only a three-hour/$170 ferry ride away from Japan!

You could say that I'm studying here.

I'm teaching English to kiddies. Feel free to come down. There are lots more jobs than teachers. You could literally apply for a job today and be here next week if you have a passport.
