New Ten Commandments
Do not do to others what you would not want to do to you.
In all things, strive to cause no harm.
Treat your fellow human beings, your fellow living things, and the world in general with love, honesty, faithfulness and respect.
Do not overlook evil or shrink from administering justice, but always be ready to forgive wrongdoing freely admitted and honestly regretted.
Live life with a sense of joy and wonder.
Always seek to be learning something new.
Test all things; always check your ideas against the facts, and be ready to discard even a cherished belief if it does not conform to them.
Never censor or cut yourself off from dissent; always respect the right of others to disagree with you.
Form independent opinions on the basis of your own reason and experience; do not allow yourself to be led blindly by others.
Question everything.

New Ten Commandments
Can you answer where (or to whom) these New Ten Commandments are to take you?
I can with the real Ten Commandments, in one word, and back it up with a verse --- let's see your answer, backed up in writing - (if that's not asking too much).
I'm not sure I understand your question. Could you clarify? Can you answer where (or to whom) these New Ten Commandments are to take you?

His own wife, perhaps?
That's six words --- and not backed in writing from that book.Based on the same book that those commandments were from... I would say they are designed to "take you" happily through life until you die.
I'll bet CABAL knows --- don't you, CABAL?I'm not sure I understand your question. Could you clarify?
No, noooooo..... not a verse. Can you answer where (or to whom) these New Ten Commandments are to take you?

Why?No, noooooo..... not a verse.
So, I'll ask again --- what does this Dawkins character say in his book that is the equivalent of Galatians 3:24?Galatians 3:24 said:Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
That's six words --- and not backed in writing from that book.
Watch this ---So, I'll ask again --- what does this Dawkins character say in his book that is the equivalent of Galatians 3:24?
Or, as I suspect, is he just pulling these "New Ten Commandments" out of his head?
I'll bet CABAL knows --- don't you, CABAL?
After all, that's basic theology, isn't it?
Then what?Umm... yeah, it is. Try reading it. One of the central themes of the book is that mankind does not need the belief in god in order to lead a happy and productive life. Quite the contrary, Dawkins repeatedly makes the argument that such belief is actually detrimental to a happy and productive life.
I already answered it for you here: 232.What exactly are you implying? I know a lot more than you give me credit for - even if we arrive at different conclusions.
You're on your own, AV.
Then what?
After divorcing one from the Ten Commandments, he gives ten of his own?
That's as bad as Promise Keepers --- after we prove we can't keep the 10 commandments that God gave us, PK heaps about 8 more promises on us to keep.
That's six words --- and not backed in writing from that book.
Dawkins can take a hike.Differences:
Dawkins doesn't claim his "commandments" are from god.
Dawkins doesn't claim his "commandments" will lead to salvation in the afterlife.
It's simply a set of guidelines to a happy life... one that was written as a contrast to the 10 commandments in the bible.
