Why does it have to lead anywhere? What makes you think that there is a road at all? When a road leads to Christ, and you close that road and open a new one --- it had better lead somewhere.

I suspect --- and again, I haven't read the book --- the new road leads to "me".
Which is just what Lucifer wanted to do --- supplant God with himself.
Dawkins can take a hike, and take his "another gospel" with him.
So you are saying that you don't find any sort of moral truth in those words? It sounds like sound advice for anyone. Is it the fact that he is an atheist? I'm sure you would accept it with open arms if Billy Graham said it...
I can back most of those with a Bible verse.Dawkins' statements had nothing to do with leading somewhere.
That's funny, what I read mentioned nothing about "me" but a way to treat others and our environment.
Don't blame Lucifer, an omniscient God did creat him.
Do not do to others what you would not want to do to you. [Matthew 7:12]
In all things, strive to cause no harm. [Romans 12:18]
Treat your fellow human beings, your fellow living things, and the world in general with love, honesty, faithfulness and respect. [Philippians 2:3; 1 Peter 2:17]
Do not overlook evil or shrink from administering justice, but always be ready to forgive wrongdoing freely admitted and honestly regretted. [Ephesians 4:32]
Live life with a sense of joy and wonder. [Romans 14:17]
Always seek to be learning something new. [Colossians 1:10]
Test all things; always check your ideas against the facts, and be ready to discard even a cherished belief if it does not conform to them. [Philippians 4:8]
Never censor or cut yourself off from dissent; always respect the right of others to disagree with you. [1 Timothy 5:1]
Form independent opinions on the basis of your own reason and experience; do not allow yourself to be led blindly by others. [Colossians 2:8]
Question everything. [1 John 4:1]

And I'll repeat myself --- I do not know who Dawkins is --- nor do I care to know.Don't you know, BananaSlug, that AV hates Dawkins not for what he says, but for what he is.
I'm not against their wisdom --- I even gave you some verses to back them up --- what ticks me off is Dawkin's calling them the "New Ten Commandments."

If he wants to change something, let him call them the New Eightfold (or however many) Path or something and let the Buddhists here get up in arms about it - (like they really would).
And I'll repeat myself --- I do not know who Dawkins is --- nor do I care to know.
Because I'm an Independent Baptist. Why wouldn't you care to know Dawkins? He's an Oxford educated biologist, renowned author, and founder of a charitable organization. Even if you disagree with him, why wouldn't you want to know him?
Because I'm an Independent Baptist.
Others tried pinning Martin Luther and the Crusades and whatever on me --- and it doesn't work that way with us.
If this Charles Dawkins is a Christian, then he needs to read his Bible a little more closely. What does your denomination have to do with anything? What if you were to just meet for dinner and discuss your favourite movies or something? No religious discussion at all.
If this Charles Dawkins is a Christian, then he needs to read his Bible a little more closely.
If he's an Atheist, then he needs to read It a lot more closely.
I am not responsible, or affiliated, with what he says.
No - I - do - not.Sorry AV, I'm not buying the act. I cannot believe someone on these forums as involved as you could not know who Richard Dawkins is.
Nice try, but you know full-well who we're talking about.
No - I - do - not.
