It's probably a little more complex than you propose.

Most soul sleep proponents do not relegate soul sleep to an eternal state, but acknowledge a rising at judgment.

While I don't agree with the bulk of such postulations there is enough to give them a toe hold, which can be said of most postulations.

Yeah, the eternal annihilation vs. eternal torture debate. Those are somewhat different than the soul sleep presentations for the most part though some eternal annihilationists believe that when the unsaved die, that's the end of them permanently so it isn't really even soul sleep for them but permanent death. I believe the SDA holds this position.

No. The greek word for "destroyed" in that passage does not mean what you THINK it means. Jesus mentions Hell more then Heaven. If he simply meant annihaltionism then he could have simply just said it. The early church disagrees with you and so do I.

The point still remains...God will destroy the wicked at judgement day as written in the Scriptures.

He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10
