  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was recently on the street up until about a year ago.

I slept in cars, sheds, and squat in an abandoned house many times, I also did a lot of things I wouldn't have done if it weren't for the sake of surviving.

It's a hard way to go, especially at first. But eventually you get used to it and that's when you start to wither- when you fall into a routine as the months go.

Take my advice brother- if you find yourself out there, you get into a program or shelter, don't try to go it alone because you'll likely either drink or freeze yourself to an early casket.

I nearly did it myself; there was a mixture of shame and anger that took me over and I vouched to just do what was easy rather than what was needed.
My heart goes out to you.

I would just like to thank everyone again for the prayers and support. I would also like to put out that this the only site I posted to other than my facebook that my post wasn't summarily deleted and people actually reached out to offer help! I received my 1st donation for my campaign this morning and am in an optimistic mood. Thanks again for your prayers!

Hello, my name is Kevin. I am 31 and was burned in a house fire when I was 9. I found this site using google. I am currently facing some scary life situations and have been praying a lot. I have no place to live and will soon be sleeping on the streets and in the cheapest motels I can find. Through prayer I came to the somewhat cliche realization that god helps those that help themselves.<staff edit>
God helps even more, those that can't help themselves. He encourages us to pray, not just help others, or help ourselves. Father, I pray that this one will be in Your care through this time in their life; that You will bring good out of this homeless time, and lead them into what can provide for this need soon. Amen.

Hi Kevin.....
I know of a story that was given to a pastor during a visionary dream that he had back in 1995.

You may find it encouraging.... and useful as you reach out to others.

The story of homeless man Angelo by Rick Joyner!
