Plenty have tried... But no one does it better....

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
Now, when I talked to God, I knew He'd understand
He said, "Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to"
Ooh, well - Peter Alan Green

“Twist and Shout” was originally by The Top Notes in 1960; the band The Isley Brothers did a cover of it in 1962. The Beatles did a second cover of the song in 1963. This song was made popular by The Beatles with John Lennon’s diverse vocals, which for being the last track recorded in an exhausting day-long session show some wear and tear in his voice.

Sort of the compliment of one hit wonders. Songs that more than one artist or group made a hit. Sorry but it will be hard to match this one.

This is a difficult challenge for me because I tend to prefer the original artists, with the exception of of the electronica genre where a DJ like Tiesto takes a good maybe slower track and energizes it. Even artists like Elvis, known for doing other artists tracks, as talented as he was, in many instances it just wasn't the same. I think it's difficult to really compete with an original artist, even more difficult to improve upon an original.

I'll give an example though of an instance where I did not like the original track, but loved a remix.

Original

Tiesto Remix

I love the remix, the original not so much.
