And secret payment so nobody will know, and they won't even have to pay taxes!

"No need to worry about 1099 or W9s. We organize and securely pay all protesters with secret Bitcoin currency."
So some people are getting a few dollars to march. Some bad actors and liers. I think we have already established that. Next!

One of the most widely used means to defame the Constitution is to manipulate perception of the three-fifths compromise. Agenda-driven academicians and committed ideologues routinely state the U.S. Constitution only recognizes blacks as three-fifths of a person. No context is given. This often-repeated falsehood foments disrespect of the Constitution and contempt for the founders who authored it.

The U.S. Constitution does not relegate blacks to “three-fifths of a person” status. Article I, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution states: “Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.” The “other Persons” were slaves.

I don’t see anyone treating anybody as second class citizens.

That is why we have statistics and why it is important to read broadly. YOUR personal experience is not the same experience EVERYONE has.

I see an equal opportunity for everyone regardless of race, religion, or nationality in America.

That is certainly something we say we are all about, but the data indicates there are some factors that keep this from happening. Otherwise the zip code of where you were born and raised wouldn't correlate as closely to opportunities you get in your life and success overall.

Again, statistically, not anecdotally. I'm sure you know some minorities who have succeeded. That's great. But there is a statistical measure of inequality in the US that cannot be denied.

The thing is that nobody can say they are poor because of their color.

Statistically speaking, reality disagrees with you.

That’s just someone not wanting to take responsibility for their own shortcomings.

A lot of people who enjoy privilege desperately want that to be the case because it lets us off the hook for tacitly supporting the system that's made our lives so pleasant relatively speaking.

Apparently some of them. You can sign up online, and people have stated they are getting paid.

This would be very interesting to see.

My wife has been quite active in women's causes and she went to a number of marches (all before the COVID shutdown). And I don't recall her EVER getting paid or even HEARING about that sort of thing.

It is patently offensive to say to people who care about a topic "Oh you don't really care, you're getting paid!" That would be akin to someone telling YOU your faith in God isn't real, you're getting paid by the Church to say things". It's an absurd insult.

Is it not possible that some people actually FEEL COMPELLED TO TAKE ACTION? Even if it's something YOU don't agree with?

So next time you want to paint a movement as made up of people getting paid, just remember what it can say about YOUR beliefs.

This is why Luke 6:31 is such an amazing verse in the Bible.

Thanks for the link. So the U.S. Constitution did not want to give the South representation based on population eh? So the comprimise was to call slaves 3/5 of a person. It shows that the BLM has been a struggle since the beginning.

Is your wife's love, or the death of a person's father a group of people that have divided this country and caused death and destruction using terroristic tactics? Does your wife say, "If you don't specifically love me, then you must be a sexist"? Does the guy who's father die threaten you with violence as he tells you about his loss? Are either one of these people taking over parts of cities and carrying guns and shooting each other while forcing the police out even when they come to render aid?

By answering a person's grief or anguish with a generalized answer rather than a specific answer is to hurtfully ignore the specific concern. The wife did not ask "Do you love everybody?" She asked specifically "Do you love ME?" To ignore that would be to endanger the relationship. You might get slapped or worse.

I am just stating a simple fact. I understand why they are protesting, I understand and agree racism happens especially to African-Americans. I totally agree black lives matter.

@Broken Fence , you e been had. That’s a fake website, it says so right there if you scroll down. And Crowds on Demand says they mostly do non-political PR stuff and there is zero evidence of them providing protesters for BLM events. Where did you originally see evidence of paid protesters?
Seen videos on YouTube people saying they are paid protesters. Political congressmen and senators. The President said there were paid protesters.

May I ask why it is important to find "paid protestors" in the movement?

I ask because I assume you legitimately believe in God and are not being paid to. And I assume that all of your congregation is similarly true believers.

So why is it necessary to try to find out some small way to delegitimize other people's thoughts and feelings?

Again, I point to Luke 6:31.

Because if people are getting paid to protest. That is wrong, and should be illegal.

Given his track record, do you actually believe the President?
