some help with IE compatability...

OK, the design is this:

Now, the background is to remain static, in the same proportions (Top bar is 90 pixels, bottom bar is 75 pixels)

The content scrolls however.

The problem? How to achive this? Using DIV positioning seems like a good idea...but well...

works in firefox, breaks in IE.

Anyone have ideas? Oh yes, and that center content page is a relative width of 70% of the page....

I suppose IE 6 is the problem then.
since all the content DIV appears below the background, rather then on top of it.

(And apparently, MAC IE6 works as well..just windows IE6)

Try changing the z-index of the content DIV. (make it higher than all the rest).

it is. It's z-index is 20, while the others are 1. (I've also tried all possible numbers...including 0 and negatives)

Also, fixed positioning doesn't seem to work for the background. it wants to scroll.

You can always view the source....

Anyways, you're code does not vaidate as transitional HTML. That would be step one in resolving the issue and then try a different tactic rather than z-index.
