If we put metallic sodium and water in a piston engine
we can have the best power we know today...................
Ships, tractors etc... can use it very well.

Can we change today..........oil with sodium power and ethanol?

I think..sodium ships have a power greater than nuclear ships....
  ^_^
There are alot of mitigating factors to such a thing. Cost of the refining of pure sodium, the down right hazard that raw sodium presents, the engineering of such an engine, etc.

BTW, the benefit of nuclear powered ships is not as much power, but a lack of need to constantly refuel.

lol... his point was that humans last an EXTREMELY long time... Anyway, isn't the waste heat a product of inefficient (though cheaper) designs that are allowed by the sheer raw power? I mean, a combustion reaction can waste a lot of heat, but there's nothing BESIDES heat that's driving the engine...

I would agree with that, but there are many ways to utilize so called waste heat in power generation in order to increase efficiancy.
