Red, looks like you're an angel, even if Sabre's not! :holy: Yeah, she is very beautiful and graceful!

Anyone besides me think the opening ensemble dance was a "Mia" one? Maybe they said who did it, but I missed that if they did.
I believe they did say it was a Mia number.
Also, I am with her - I didn't pick a favorite until this week either, but Sabre has won me over. She's amazing.

I think America got it right last night. I was very puzzled about Mia's "apology" regarding the jacket she wore the previous night. Unfortuately, I deleted the program from my DVR so I couldn't go back and look. Apparently there was a Marine symbol that was upside down and the Marines took offense. She apologized at first, but then later in the show made a comment ("never accept a jacket from a friend") that in my opinion, negated the apology! It was obvious she was being defensive. And I must say, I do agree that "anti-war" routine the dancers were given was a bit much. I think they should leave politics out of the dance competition. It was their choice to push the envelope and make a statement. Fair enough, but expect criticism.

Why are you guys calling her Sabre? Is it because she's so SHARP!?

LOL
 Mea Culpa  Please forgive me....I started the downward spiral of the misspelled name of SABRA! I led others astray! :swoon: May I still post here.....pwease???

[pong][sign]:tutu: SYTYCD:tutu: [/sign][/pong]

OK, enough of that.....now I know! :tutu: Back to dancing! Giggle! :D ;) :D

(But at least I spelled Kameron correctly! ^_^ )

I took her comment of one of continued embarassment....As in, it was her friend that got the jacket and gave it to her....and therefore earned her the comments. But the rest of us had moved on...at least I had. Not that I had noticed in the first place.

Yeah, they should have expected it, when they did something that was a political statement. I agree. To quote the old saw...can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

I'll confess, I really like So You Think You Can Dance. I started watching the show when visiting my best friend last summer, and saw the last few episodes. (Benji sure is an amazing dancer!) I've been watching since the beginning this season. My favourite partners were Danny/Anya and Pasha/Jessi. They've done some beautiful routines! I'm sad that the girls were kicked off, but glad that the guys are still around. I really like the ballroom dancing routines, and some of the contemporary and jazz ones.

P.S. I also like Sara, Lacey, and Sabra. . .and Lauren's a really good solo dancer. I really liked Jamie and Shauna, and was sad when they had to leave. What can I say? These dancers are all very talented!

I didn't see Kameron leaving. I figured Pasha would just because the ballroom dancing is not really supported by teenagers/young adults. I'm not upset. Just didn't see it coming.

Do you think Laci will win like her brother?
I don't know if the show is willing to risk such a "coincidence".

That was my thought... it'd be like a show "monarchy"... :) I don't think she's as much of a star as her brother. She is good, but she's not... endearing or entertaining so much as Benji

Lacey definitely has personality though. I think her only downfall is that her brother arrive on the show first. There's no questioning her dancing abilities... she's great. But when you run a show on a grand scale like this, that's supposed to be based on OPEN auditions, it's hard to bring in the previous year's winner and say that out of thousands of auditioners, she just happened to be the best one.

I just don't get why people like that Mia dance so much. Honestly, I didn't like it. I got that she was seeing her dearly departed father & all that jazz, but it just wasn't that good IMHO. I think people are praising it just because it's so touchy feely they don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. I just didn't think it was a very good performance, IMHO. To be honest, none of the dances really stood out tonight.

I LOVED the dance because it moved me, deep inside my heart.

I purposely don't share my age here, but I will say this; I also lost my dad, to the same horrid disease - lung cancer. But it was quite a bit more than 2 years ago.

This dance touched me with it's joy of reunion. I cried during the whole thing and kept crying when it was over. It will be a wonderful experience to one day see my beloved dad again.

I understand that you are not touched the same way, but hope you can understand that others were NOT just being nice. Mary couldn't even speak, for her own personal reasons....I hope you can accept that as real.

I'm sure there will be others who feel as you do....absolutely sure of it. That's just part of what is interesting about we human beings, we're all very different.

And, for what it's worth, I came into watching this show with a HUGE dislike for contemporary dance. I love traditional dance and tend to favor it over other styles, having been trained in ballet and tap.

Mia has opened my mind to being more willing to look at contemporary again. I find she has a gift for expressing emotion through movement in a way that tells a story that makes sense. The dance she did for Lacey and Kameron near the beginning of the season will remain one of my all-time favorites.

Although I don't like all the dances equally by any means, the choreographers have done a tremendous job presenting so many different styles and I've loved seeing them all.

I thought they both planned it together.

Do you think Dominic caught her by surprise?

Well, I'd have to watch the tape for sure, but I thought she said something that indicated she was sort of, a little bit, taken aback. But maybe not.

I was certainly shocked too, but didn't rewind it to see just what got said by each of them. I know the first judge (guy from Hairspray) said something about the chaperones will be watching them, and I thought Lauren said something at that point that made me feel she thought it went a bit further than she thought it would.

I'll be watching the show again, as my son is away, but it won't be til Sun or Mon.

Sad to see Dominic and Sara go.

For Sara, given the remaining female dancers, she was starting to go out of her depth. It's not that Sara was bad or anything, but Lacey and Sabra are just in another league.

I thought Dominic was really good. I think his loss was a result of complacent votes.

I haven't watched the show yet, taped it and was busy last night. Hmmm, yeah, at this point, it's really sad to see any of them go....

I didn't watch last year....so, at the end, does it come down to one guy and one girl?
