I was surprised with the guy that they sent home. I thought he was their favourite.

The girl was very forgettable... and tall! :D

I agree. Ricky was a very good dancer. I wonder if there was something else to it. One of the other guys was nothing special in my opinion.

I think there's generally always something else to it. They raved and raved about Cedric, but up until his solo, he was completely forgettable, in my opinion. Even his solo wasn't as good as some of the other hip hop dancers this season.

It probably all comes down to editing, it's just not possible to give us a really good feel on 20 different dancers (not counting all the people who didn't make the top 20) in just a few hours.

I don't like So you think you can dance, I like Dancing with the stars
LOL

Comparing "Dancing with the Stars" to "So You Think You Can Dance" is like comparing... a Big Mac to a Filet Mignon.

SYTYCD has some of the most incredible dancers I've ever seen. I can't even bring myself to watch DWTS.

:amen: I enjoy this show because of the quality and variety. Some of these kids are really talented.

So, let's get down to some "nuts n bolts" type conversation.

Can the judges REALLY say that no favoritism was shown in this year's selection of contestants?

I mean... let's look at the odds.

Out of THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of auditioners, you get 4 contestants who have some previous affliation with the show, either by working with the staff or being related to previous contestants?

And I only really like two of them. Lacey (Benji's sister) and Lauren (assistant trainer from last year). The other two just fade into the background for me.

I really like this show! Wow, I was talking with my friend afterward....and we had this strange conversation.

Jordan-Wow that was awesome!
Me- I know finally something to watch when everything else has ended...
J-It gave me a buzz like American Idol
Me-You make it sound like AI is a drug.....*laughs*
J-*laughs* Well it is an addiction, not that your addicted
Me- So we are both officially addicted to this show...
J-Yeah, we need a life...
*Laughter*

Sorry just a conversation that had to do with this show and AI.....

So I really enjoy watching Sara dance, she was great in that group performance, (on the 21rst of June.) I also like Pasha but I do agree his solos could be better.

I'm really disappointed that they kept Cedric. I just DON'T get his dancing at all.

But the guy that they let go (Jimmy?) wasn't all that great either.

Shauna really danced for her life though... which she needed to do because the Step routine that she did with Jimmy was bad, IMO.

I've seen plenty of Step routines and theirs was SO SLOW... it was agonizing to watch.

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this show. I have absolutely loved dance all my life and this show has such talent, both in the auditions and now in the final 20.

I'm behind the times I know, but I just have to say this....that first dance that Lacey and Kameron did.....the Mia dance....well, I just don't even know how to put it into words. :swoon:

It was perfect. So much a wonderful, symbolic picture of a relationship between a man and a woman. They were so wonderful together and it was all just right. And yes, Lacey just "gave" herself to the dance. I could watch it a million times.

The narrowing down process is very hard, as they are all so talented now.

And how about Hok? I don't think I've seen him mentioned yet.

I could go on and on....but I won't. ^_^

Can't wait to see what you all thought about tonight's show.

Red, I agree, Sabra is a wonderful dancer! Hope you enjoyed her tonight, I really did.

More later, after the show has been seen and I won't be posting any spoilers.

Never had watched the show as
It kind of looks like a Dancing with the Stars ripoff.
Not quite, since this show premiered on television before Dancing With The Stars began.

And the people on Dancing with the Stars can't dance and are learning as the show progresses, whereas these kids can dance and awesomely at that.

I think I watched an episode of DWTS once... it was pretty difficult to watch.

Being a fan of a show like SYTYCD really raises ones level of expectation when it comes to other dance shows.

So....on to last night's show....

Anyone care to join in?

I loved having Debbie Allen as a judge. I think she gave really great, helpful and constructive feedback.

Cedric....that was classy. He knows he's probably going to go, but had the best attitude about learning more and all the opportunity he's been given by being on the show. And I hope he and Debbie Allen do end up working together to advance his skills that would be great.

But!

Man, how did Jimmy feel to hear the judges say they think they made a mistake in letting him go? I guess this is the kind of thing that you face in the showbiz world, but man...I would feel horrid.

Pasha having to dance with a substitute partner....Wow! He was amazing and I sure hope Jessi is o.k.

Back with more later....
