War, Terrorist, Fear, Death...it all begs the question "WHY?"
God is all powerful; He's a loving God...so WHY does he allow this to happen?!?
Well, if we go back to a time before God created us, lets think it through. Aside from the obvious choice of whether or not He was going to create us, he had the choice to give us free will, or to make us perfect, in which we would follow him without question.
Where the latter would naturally result in there being no sin in this world, and most likely a utopian society of one sort or another, there is a problem. We don't really have the choice to worship Him. It's just what we would do. We cease to follow Him because we WANT to.
So, when God created Adam and Eve, he placed a tree with a shiny fruit of some sort on it. They followed Him perfectly, and by CHOICE. He gave them the option of disobeying Him. Thereby, their decision to worship Him was entirely their own decision, and it gave meaning to their worship. And as we were created for His glory, it gave meaning to their existence.
When Eve and Adam ate from that tree, they chose to disobey God, and as we all know sin entered the world, and less than a generation later, murder...death.
So why is there pain in this world? Why does God permit such horrible things to happen? Because if he didn't, then the only other option is the loss of our free will. He made us to choose what we want to do, and He gives us freedom in our lives to either follow Him, or not to. And through that choice, it gives meaning to our worship.
So, when we see the pain that is happening in this world, it is our duty to take action to stop it. As Christains we are called to love others. Yet as humans, we are in a sinful world where that can be exceedingly difficult at times. We will fail at times, but through God we are given the strength to move forward, and live our lives for Him as best we can. (And I guerentee you, it never gets boring!)
