My son lives in that area. He didn't see any burning buildings or looting. The idiots took over a police station. The city just closed the part they occupied, and they gave up and left eventually, Not remotely like the mob that tried to overturn a presidential election by attacking the Capitol to "hang Mike Pence."

Like the insurrectionists, the rioters in Seattle had a good number of them arrested and sentenced.

Which is the way it should be.

They just burned and looted, took over a police station, caused over a billion in damages and seized an area of a city and made it there own autonomous zone.
How long did the January 6th incident last? Less than a day?

Please stop with the gas lighting.

What did I post that is not true?

Comparing the events on J6 with some other protest.

These "liberals" did not try to stop an official act of the US Congress as prescribed by our Constituion.

Name one other event where a mob tried to stop the US Congress from carrying out it's duty to certify the election?

I still didn’t post anything that wasn’t true. Just because you don’t like the comparison doesn’t make it gaslighting.

Secession of the South, when Lincoln won the election?
It could happen again, for all we know...

You're right. The average BLM riot was far more violent and destructive than J6. It's hard to compare them.

This is your imagination because that didn't even happen at all. A lot of that mob were probably gun-owners, and yet they were unarmed (and far less violent than any BLM riot)

The insurrection narrative is, quite simply, all in your head. This is not gaslighting. You were already gaslit when you believed a bunch of people climbing on railings and calmly walking around taking selfies were launching the coup of the century.

It's actually quite remarkable how openly false the J6 insurrection narrative is, and yet how willingly many believe it.

There was almost a coup by people armed with flag poles and bear spray?
US Capitol Police Sgt. Aquilino Gonell told Kinzinger that “(c)ommon things were used as weapons, like a baseball bat, a hockey stick, a rebar, a flagpole – including the American flag – pepper spray, bear spray.”

The rioters “had all these items,” Gonell said, “used to attack us. Those are weapons.”

Rioters also used knives, stolen police shields, a stun gun, fire extinguisher and more. Hand-to-hand combat led to more than a dozen officers being sent to the hospital, some of whom had bone fractures and concussions.

So far, with the investigation still ongoing, three individuals have been charged for allegedly bringing a gun onto Capitol grounds on January 6.

"Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers."
George Carlin

The intent was to overturn the election to give Donald Trump the excuse to order the election invalid, so he could continue in power. It failed in part because the insurgents weren't among America's Best and Brightest, and because the plotters had actually planned the coup on social media.

Everyone who assaulted the police should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and they have, along with some who did nothing.

Police rounded up most of the actual rioters. Turns out, the instigators were mostly white supremacists. For example, one police officer died as the result of the BLM marches. The killer was a white supremacist who was trying to make it look as though BLM marchers did it.

Rioting and vandalism?

Man who helped ignite George Floyd riots identified as white supremacist: Police

There's a lot more, if you want to see it. On the other hand, can you name even one BLM member who killed a police officer, vandalized property, or looted a store?

Show us what you have. You might as well blame Mike Pence for causing the Jan. 6 insurrection. After all, he didn't obey Trump's orders to block the certification of the election.

Does BLM have membership cards, rings or medallions that indicate they are BLM members?
How exactly do you identify one?

Membership lists, yes. They do have members and organized local groups. So tell us how any of them have been caught killing or assaulting police, looting, or vandalizing property.

How exactly do you identify one?
The same way you would identify a white supremacist who was doing any of that. They get arrested and the police investigate to find out their affiliations and motives.

So how many BLM members did the things those white supremacists were doing at BLM events?

I'd be shocked if there were none at all. They got quite a pack of right-wing rioters. Why none from BLM?

I'm guessing.... "THE POLICE ARE LYING TOO!!"

The police don't investigate to find out if someone is a BLM member, the FBI doesn't keep statistics on them and the reason there is no record of a BLM member being arrested for arson or looting is because no one ever tried to find out and wouldn't get anywhere if they did.
As far as membership lists the police would need warrants to get those and I can't picture any judge signing one for that purpose.
Now when they work for the organization, are a leader or in some position they have been identified and charged with multiple cases of fraud and misuse of funds

"Nothing!?" You call calmly strolling down a hallway "nothing" ??

Every footstep through the rotunda was like another 9/11.

Every selfie another act of terrorism.

America almost died that day. ^_^

Personally, I think Pelosi took it rather personally when someone placed his feet on her desk.
(Not that I blame her; I'd be [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]ed too if someone placed his feet on my desk.)

But Stephen Colbert's film crew can trespass in the Capital and hide in offices and they get a pass

For sure, that guy putting his feet on her desk was like a new Pearl Harbor attack all by itself.

People really do not realize how close America came to the abyss that day.

The police don't investigate to find out if someone is a BLM member
They checked the affiliation of the people they arrested for killing police, attacking people, looting, and vandalizing. That's how we know all those guys were white supremaicists or other right-wing extremists.

the FBI doesn't keep statistics on them
They track radical Islamists, white and black supremacists, and others known to be violent.

More than three years after the FBI came under fire for claiming “Black identity extremists” were a domestic terrorism threat, the bureau has issued a new terrorism guide that employs almost identical terminology, according to a copy of the document obtained by Yahoo News.

The FBI’s 2020 domestic terrorism reference guide on “Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremism” identifies two distinct sets of groups: those motivated by white supremacy and those who use “political reasons — including racism or injustice in American society” to justify violence. The examples the FBI gives for the latter group are all Black individuals or groups.

BLM wouldn't fit into that category for the obvious reasons.

Now when they work for the organization, are a leader or in some position they have been identified and charged with multiple cases of fraud and misuse of funds
So you're saying some BLM members went into the street and misused funds? Seriously? Sounds like a riot by a pack of delinquent CPAs. C'mon.
