You work too hard, Mich. I realize it's a sort of ministry for you, but you don't want to get totally burned out, the way I did with apologetics back in 2003-04. I still don't think I could go back and do that again---I was pending great four-hour chunks of time at a whack, carefully and painstakingly explaining things to fundamentalist Protestants who didn't give a rip one way or the other.....but, at the same time, others were reading the stuff I wrote, and they were encouraged by it, and some even converted.

and I personally benefited from it and learned a lot from you. So it wasn't for not.

Earlier in the thread it was decided by me & a few others it 5 main, 5 political. It's an honor system, not a rules. I just think the number is not too overwhelming & not too restrictive. It frees me up to participate as a member.

Since then, I have not met the limit of 5 here in main. I believe political is zero. But I plan on flagging & numbering the topics as they are posted.

It can always be tweaked as we go along but so far it seems to be working out for me anyway, Takes a big load of feeling obligated off.

Few people scan beyond page two on this forum, for they figure the latest threads are what's the subjects being discussed and those beyond page 2 are old hat, so to speak.

Your thread/post will be in the CP- it will not go away. I can leave for 6 months, come back and the last thread I posted in will be on the CP page. That is why its there.

Thanks Bene. I brought it up myself after another thread asking if OBOB was Abandoned. Anhelyna mentioned it & I seized the opportunity. I have asked that we all get together & iron out differences for years & was always refused. So I ran with it.

I don't get it. There must be more to this that I don't know about.

OBOB is Abandoned I just saw it as an opportunity to get things straightened out & to get me off the treadmill.

I don't think any one poster should dominate thread creation, it just isn't kind. Maybe observe the norms of the community for a week or two, and then mold yourself after the most prolific thread creator? I think 5 and 5, 10 threads a day, is rediculous. If you have a lot to say, go nuts...but if you're just going to link to other people's garbage, please keep it to an absolute minimum. If you want to discuss and article, that's awesome...but please don't post things that you are not personally interested in discussing in the hopes that someone else will find it interesting. We all have the Internet, we can find our own uninteresting articles and opinion pieces.

For the most part, I like the info and the subsequent debates they spark. It keeps me in the loope or does when I'm on this site rather. I can have conversations with people I meet and they think I am super smart who knows so much stuff.

It bothers me only because others have mentioned that it bothered them, some enough so that they left. There are only a dozen or so regular posters, plus the two or three trolls who keep getting banned and coming back with new names (Hi AS!). I figure for united should seriously consider the criticism they're given. Michie will do what Michie will do, she has demonstrated over the years that she is incapable of change. She is AMDG, she is WA, she is Fantine, she is TLF. She has become a charicature of herself. This is the 5th or 6th time she's pretended to ask for suggestions and criticism, only to react with deflections and state her intent to continue as she always has. It's the same discussion, every year....only with less people here to observe it as the years go on. I rely don't care, but I'd like to see a place for seekers or new Catholics to come without having to sift through garbage from so-and-so's blog or Lifesite, CNA, CA, etc. There are a handful of posters here who seemingly exist only to correct false statements and poor logic that others spam the board with, and that shouldn't be. To be honest, it's embarrassing.

As far as your question as to whether nefarious stuff is still going on behind the scenes, I don't know. Michie's spam seems random as best I can tell, and more often than not I don't think she reads the articles she links to. On the other hand, she hinted that there are back door shenanigans going on, so I hope she'll bring that into the light. I don't know of or suspect any conspiracies.
