I think it's safe to say I'm sleep deprived. After all, I'm typing this at 1:39am. :sigh:

My sleep deprivation is a result of having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as ADHD. If my brain isn't going a million miles an hour worrying about who might be lurking outside the house, it's keeping itself occupied with other things, like whether I should be lying on my left or right side while trying to fall asleep, or maybe on my back. I think you all know what I'm talking about there.

Definately an overactive mind will keep you awake.
I sometimes take a notebook to bed hoping if I start writing out my thoughts I will eventually fall asleep.

Myself I do good to get four hours of sleep at night.
I might nap during the day off and on but not very recuperative.

I have fibro and/or CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome).
Testing had not been conclusive. Blood tests seem good.
Doctor knows I definately have a hard time functioning at times.

I had enough years of service in at work so I retired early.
The doctor had been after me for years to make a work change.

So you could likely see me logged onto CF or other sites I visit most anytime of day or night.


I know there are others of you who have difficulty sleeping.

I want to let you know last year I went through this for the FIRST time in my life. I HATED IT...I would even cry it bothered me so bad! BUT I will tell you what was told to me before I got on my medication. TRY:
Hot baths
Deep breathing excesises
Read (this is advice from an optomologist friend who says this tires out the eyes)
There are ALL kinds of teas that soothe the body.

SEE with me I had an unfortunate case of HIGH anxiety so that is WHY I had to go on Paxil to sleep!

Here is my weird day

Go to bed at 10pm
sleep until 3 am and get online
go back to bed and wake up at 5 pm
Get online leave the computer on and do other things
Get back online at 7 pm and stay on until 10.
Sometimes I even shop alot. I really don't have much to do.

I am usually up during most of the night.
Do first devotional of day before getting some sleep in late morning.
Wake and do some things then lay in recliner sometimes nap.
Get up and do more Bible reading and second devotional.
Afternoon and early evening sometimes I am online and sometimes I am napping.

Today actually I slept alot because it was a catchup day.
After not sleeping much for many days in a row it finally happens.
Since I have slept most of the day expect to be up ALL night and all day tomorrow.

I have nightmares of hurricanes, fire, demons, rape, blood, eating bad food and the list goes on. I wake up screaming many times. I don't know what cause them. I used to think I was bi-polor but I found out it's serious depression instead.

Depression is very hard for me to deal with.

Thank you :hug: Doctors are confusing, one says I'm bi-polor, one says I'm normal and one says I have serious depression. The one who said I was normal was the shrink I had the longest, she said I'm just really really lonely and that is why I act so bad sometimes. She also said I'm scared to open up to people. I even told her my phobia of men. I'm really scared of men, even online. heck, I'm scared of Daniel. Anyways, maybe she is right. Maybe I really don't have a mental illness. My cousin agrees with her and so does Daniel. My cousin also said she feels very depressed and she is 22.

HECK without my meds I would MORE THAN LIKEY have my sleep issues. What works for me may not work for others!

Have you ever talked to a Christian counselor?
They might have a different perspective of things.

I've tried just about everything.
I have been dealing with this for awhile and nothing works.

I even tried aromatherapy candles for relaxation.
That may have helped my stress level some when it was at its worse.

Leaving work also has heped my stress level go down a LOT. ;)
That was what the doctor was hoping for.

Not sure if anyone is on here... maybe Im talkin to myself :confused: lol
Anyways... Im a terrible sleeper. Its too... quiet. I sleep about 4-5 hours every night... maybe a nap during the day. I just... stink at sleeping.
Good thing I got cool people to talk to ;)
