  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Lately, we've been getting basically a small crumb in some wine for communion. Is this because it's Great Lent or because attendance was underestimated? Or perhaps some other reason...?

We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

Pretty normal in my part of the world.
When you have a variable number of communicants ranging from 75-150 or more, it becomes kind of inevitable for a priest to want to make sure no one is turned away. I don't know what your situation is, though.

Sometimes it is just the way the prosphora crumbles. Literally. It is the consistency of the bread. We've gotten prosphora that is very doughy and as I'm cutting up the remains for antidoron, it balls up. Other times it crumbles into tiny pieces and I'm brushing the crumbs up for a couple minutes.

For months now I’ve been the Reader for Matins, Reader for the liturgy, candle-lighting dude, post communion prayers Reader, and antidoron guy. I end up dead last at communion and it has been slim pickens with portions. But, whether it’s a few microns or a full mouth of the Eucharist—-IT IS CHRIST!

Not mine! I came in with the first one I made in years, it was huge and had the density of well... lead. Father took a look and said, "Not bad but we'll have antidoron for another service with that" :D

I didn't want to make a whole thread about this, but I communed at the Russian church tonight, the priest there actually throws the host into your mouth from a couple of inches away. I just noticed it at the last minute when I saw the person in front of me commune, otherwise I was prepared to take the spoon in my mouth like we still do at my church. Naturally it was very skimpy. If you're serving in that precarious way I guess you don't want to toss a large spoonful. Has anyone else received this way since covid?

Yes, I'm aware that even a few molecules provide what two very lucid chaps noted in posts 4 and 7 :D. I was just asking because things suddenly got skimpy at the beginning of Lent.

sometimes the Lamb for a Presanctified is cut smaller too, since there are usually fewer people at the Presanctified.
