  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Greetings Brethren. As many of you know, I have never been into the Lent season, and this year, I had planned to skip it all together. Due to personal reasons, I have been (occasionally) attending a congregation that does not follow the liturgical year but somehow I had this AH-HA moment

Why not replace Lent, my least favorite season, with Advent my Favorite season?

Why not call it ADVENT II ? Why not get out all the Advent books, (I have dozens) and reread them daily, preparing for the coming of Christ?

And on Easter, instead of fighting traffic and trying to find a parking place, spend a quite day at home exchange a few gifts with family from the Easter Bunny, watch HALLMARK Christmas shows, and eat ham and pie

Instead of Lent, we have ADVENT 2 for the weeks leading up to Easter !
Sometimes, I amaze myself ! I should publish a book for anyone else who wants to follow my inspiration.

A very interesting answer to a question I don't think anybody asked.
