Can anyone show me in the New Testament where someone was saved by the sinners prayer? Or instructed or encouraged to pray for his or her salvation?

You just have to open your heart to God, release your sin and your need for God and seek His forgiveness, you have to be willing to surrender your self to God completely. repeating words can never do that. It just makes the person preaching feel good, but the words to not change a persons heart God does.
No.Can anyone show me in the New Testament where someone was saved by the sinners prayer? Or instructed or encouraged to pray for his or her salvation?
Thx for the link.
It is made very clear in the full account of Paul's conversion that calling upon the name of the Lord did not refer to prayer. (keep the timeline of events in mind, Saul already asked the Lord what he should)
The Bible states in Acts 9:11, "11 And the Lord said to him (Ananias), “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying"
Saul had already engaged in prayer before the arrival of Ananias. Yet, he was not saved when Ananias arrived.
If prayer is all that is involved in calling on the name of the Lord, then why did it not constitute calling on the name of the Lord for Saul?
Saul was not saved by calling on the name of the Lord until he completed his obedience to the Lord's command, when he arose and was baptized to wash away his sins, as was clearly commanded by the God-sent preacher, Ananias.
16 "Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’"- Acts 22:16
I answered this in my first post and you said you didn't answer my question, so I am not sure if you will be able to hear this.
Saul, Paul, was saved when calling on the Lord it started with faith, Paul would have never been healed if he did not already believe in Jesus, what did Jesus always say, Your faith has healed you, faith in what Jesus, You have to open your heart to the Lord admit your sins and give your self completely. That is calling on the Name of The Lord. It starts with faith.

I hate the sinner's prayer since it is just empty words. When you pray it should always be from the heart, not just vain repetitions.
@Bluelion, is that an hypothetical or real?
Luke 18:13-14
World English Bible (WEB)
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldnt even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, a sinner! 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Has all the hall marks of the prayer. Godly sorrow, then Justification. That is what the Bible says in this instance anyways. This is not a prayer for salvation. This is a prayer for forgiveness after salvation has already occurred.
