Single and closer to 40

Take the time now to be 'selfish'. Do all the things you want to do that you'd otherwise need to run by a partner. If you haven't already, meditate in the weeks to come on who/what you want to be and start laying foundations and working towards that. It's a lot easier to do when single.

Being single is awesome. Don't wish it away too fast. Of course being in a relationship is awesome too, but don't give up the guarantee of today for the promise of tomorrow. You're here now, single or otherwise, enjoy it, live presently and whatever happens tomorrow, if it comes, happens.

I'm very single and close to 40 and while that makes me a bit uncomfortable for the reasons that a are basically cultural. You know little girls always dress up as brides and pretend that their hero will be there. But what if that never happened? Do you move on to other dreams. I have. But I still want that man that God has for me, if indeed he has one for me. I know I sound like I'm doubting and I am because marriage is not promised. Heck life isn't promised it's a gift. I know this.
I guess finding someone in middle age is good because all the hormone stuff has pretty much past and now you look forward to something solid. Stability.
But I don't ever want to lose that sparkle. The sparkle of love that two people have like when old flames are reunited.
Sorry for my romantic rant.

I am very close to turning 40 myself and still single but I figure that my ministry is singleness right now. Remember Romans 8:28.

Thats what happened to me. I was adamant about being single then my now boyfriend approached me and wouldn't let up until I took his number. Lol

Its been a month now and I'm glad In with him.

Even in troubled times. Which I have a hard time believing, but things like that have happened before.

That is true. God is really amazing like that. He has promised me great things which I know not of. Going to be really interesting to watch Him accomplish such miracles.

And, get involved in a ministry that you feel God has led you to work in. This life is a gift, but it also a life of service and worship to God. When we are in God's will in service, lots of other things fall into place too.
