What is to pick and choose, read the whole verse in context. Mark tells us that these are the signs that will follow after those who believe.

There is a lot of difference between IF and THEY SHALL. I have seen documentarys on TV of some churchs down south that do handle snakes and drink deadly poison to prove the Bible is true.
