Ok this may be a silly question but my H got me thinking! Ok do you ladies think it could be at ALL possible to get preg. right before your period meaning like the day before or the day due your period?

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My friend did, actually. She was just coming off birth control though and so that could have messed up her cycle.

If you had spotting it was probably implantation spotting.... women only ovulate once each cycle, and most of the time its not right before a period. (congratulations 
)

It's possible to get pregnant at any time during your cycle, though certain times are more difficult then others.

So I am a little confused. I have gotten responses that you can only get preg during certain times & or at any time??? Even right when your period is about to start?

As I understand it, if your cycle is really steady (like mine was, you could create the calendar around mine, every 26 days like clockwork) then you can be pretty sure of when you'll ovulate (between 12 and 16 days after the start of your last period, depending on how long your cycle is).
The egg is only viable for about a day, and so conception generally takes place around ovulation - although sperm can survive in your body for 4 to 5 days.
If, however, your cycle is really unstable, you could possibly ovulate very close to when you would expect to start again, and then I could see it happen. So I would say it's not impossible, just unlikely.
