I'm only teaching scripture on the matter.
You are right to be weary of False prophets. But all are not false.

We must not let our well intentions and knowledge of scripture make us dismiss truth when it comes to our shores......for if it comes, and we ask it to leave.....He may never come back again.....

You told one, you do not know, what to do when an event, that has not yet accrued, happens. This, by definition, is a prophesy.

So it would seem that you believe that you are the only prophet anyone else should listen to.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV 1900)

If scripture does it perfectly, you don't need extra biblical sources. Tongues and prophecy were necessary, though inferior to scripture, when it became complete with the book of Revelation. Paul said they would cease when the complete (perfect) arrived.

Just saw this......If your scripture proves that nothing outside of scripture can be used......wouldnt that make your scripture Void?.....since it had not been written and added to scripture during the time of It's utterance?

I'm only teaching scripture on the matter.

1Cor 13:8 Love never fails; but if [there are gifts of] prophecy, they will be done away; if [there are] tongues, they will cease; if [there is] knowledge, it will be done away. 1Cor 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 1Cor 13:10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 1Cor 13:11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 1Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

In context, Paul who wrote the majority of the New Testament, and who had divine revelation (third heaven) and who operated in the gifts of the Spirit - couldn't have meant the fully compiled NT when he wrote " when the perfect comes". He knew everything the NT has to say while He was alive!

In context, when he writes about "now we see in a mirror dimly" is talking about this life... The "perfect" would be at the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, it is very clear that there's a huge huge abuse happening in the church when people claim to have the gift of Prophecy and give directive prophecy to other people.

In the NT, directive prophecy is not seen (Like in the case of Agabus - he did not tell Paul what to do, though he prophesied correctly about what Paul was to face).
According to 1Cor 14:3 "But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation."
Any person who is filled by the Holy Spirit and who edifies, exhorts or consoles is prophesying.

The NT does not claim that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have ceased. It may be that most people never seek for the genuine gifts or may be are just on-off christians who do not consistently live in the leading of the Holy Spirit. Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

I am posting this, hoping that it would help someone....

Every job/employment that we are engaged in, is from the Lord. So, we thank Him for it.
A prayer that I pray while at work is:

Help me Father, today to work with the right mindset, looking unto You, knowing that this job is from You…
heartily and with gladness as unto the Lord (Col.3:23, Eph.6:5),
in the Name of the Lord (Col.3:17) ,
and for the Glory of the Lord (1Cor.10:31),
Giving thanks unto the Lord (Col.3:17),
Diligent in work (1Ti.6:1),
With sincerity of heart (Col. 3:22),
Fearing the Lord (Col. 3:22),
and with respect to the company & employer (1 Ti.6:1),
remembering that it is the Lord Jesus Christ that we actually work for (Col. 3:24),
remembering that it is the Lord Christ who is the pay master (Col. 3:24).

Sometimes we face difficulties at work, and are made to look for another job or another team - remember that it may be the Lord's way of telling you that your time at that job is over, and that He has a new assignment for You.

However, if the trouble at work is caused due to your own doing, it would be best to take it to the Lord in prayer asking Him to show You what has gone wrong and what You need to change. Your work is a means by which God brings glory to His name! So your work involves God's glory.

If you are a Mom with children, then the Lord's will for you would be to prioritize your home and your children and invest fully into the upbringing of your child / children. This only applies if there is sufficient income coming into the family (perhaps through your husband's job).

So when scripture became complete, it replaced the incomplete knowledge provided by tongues and prophecy.

That is one interpretation. Perhaps you are right... And every true manifestation of the operation of the gifts of the Holy spirit are in fact miracles done by the Holy Spirit.

I think if we saw true miracles as in Acts, they would be documented and make headlines.

Lately I have been having a lot of thoughts of quitting my job. A lot of people can only dream to get into this organization that I am employed. I really need guidance.

It just seems like my passion has disappeared (not sure if it's an attack from the enemy or if it's just God telling me to move on)? This organization has really helped me in my faith however not a lot of people know my work has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety, my boss being micromanager, and also shows favouritism and subtle discrimination in my team. Some discrimination as well at work. Can't tell HR, as everyone is close to my boss, even the boss of the HR is friends with my boss. Certain things are really not fair at my work. ANd this caused me to be sick.

Secondly, some of my relationship in my fellowship has changed for the worse. I suddenly feel excluded from groups within, which didn't happen before. And then someone complained about me to management to get me fired and it was slander issue.

I feel very hurt by all the things that happened. Years before I worked in this organization I received confirmation in the Lord that it was his will I work at this place. However, now suddenly everything starts going downhill - my health, my work and my relationships. Is this the enemy trying to attack me or is this God transitioning me to a different work place?

If someone can please help guide me... Anyone here prophetic that can prohesy over me so I will know God's will?
Well maybe now isn't the best time to work there. If the job is for you get it back. Try to air it out a little. Let them miss you. If when ur leaving they beg u to stay then let them know what is up and they will be closer to you once u tell them that u love ur job and it's like ppl usually are trying to boot u off of where u belong. God is about to tell u who he is...keep praying and don't leave ur church at all costs. In a situation like this u could be dead if u do.

I think if we saw true miracles as in Acts, they would be documented and make headlines.

There are miracles that happen even today - healings, oh - how many cases where the doctors and stumped and unable to explain. Saved from accidents supernaturally, working of miracles as an answer to prayer, etc.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are listed in multiple epistles, and the churches operated in them! Even a worldly church like the Corinthian church - had the genuine gifts operating in the them.

1Cor 12:28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, [various] kinds of tongues. 1Cor 12:29 All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not [workers of] miracles, are they? 1Cor 12:30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they? 1Cor 12:31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.

The reason I believe that these gifts are not seen in many churches (and denominations) is because many believers have shut themselves off of them and do not believe that they are for today.

30 years ago, these gifts were very operational in many churches that I know.
Like many truths of the scriptures were lost over the dark ages - such as the truth of salvation, emphasis on holiness in the church - which were later re-discovered during the Reformation and other revivals, the truth that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the churches today would resurface when people believe the scriptures and "earnestly desire them".

The prayer of faith heals the sick. But this is not the signs and wonders gifts that only the Apostles had. Or those whom they laid hands on to minister as they did.

I received confirmation in the Lord that it was his will I work at this place. However, now suddenly everything starts going downhill
Do you see a conflict between these two things?

To your bigger question of whether you should quit, honestly, the economy is on an uptick, companies are still on hiring sprees and wages are increasing. Now might be a good time to search around and see what your options are.

It is true that the prayer of faith heals the sick. It is also true that scripture talks about spiritual gifts that were practiced in the church.
Sure, the "regular" members in the Corinthian church may not have had operated in the gifts of the Spirit like the Apostles did. I believe that may have been because of the abuse of these gifts...

It is very easy to guess why Paul had to say that the gifts are for the edification of the church [and not to elevate a man as more "spiritual" than other, or some such thing].

What the Apostles had practiced and taught - are what we have in the scriptures.
1 Corinthians 12 and 14 talks about how the spiritual gifts were used and prescribed for use in the church, by the members of the church.
Since Paul wrote about it with regards to the Corinthian church, it is also true that church services in Galatia, Thessaloniki, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossae, Rome, Jerusalem, and all other churches that Paul ministered to in Asia Minor would have operated in the gifts just like the Corinthian church.

I have seen many of the spiritual gifts in operation in certain "old" churches - to bring the edification of members and for the glory of God.

In my opinion, in Christendom now, since we have witnessed so much of abuse of these gifts - the truth of spiritual gifts have been buried. Just like the truth regarding Salvation by faith alone was buried until the reformation.

In saying all these, I am only trying to express what I believe after studying the scriptures ("Let God be true and every man a liar." Rom.3:4). I am open to new thoughts and interpretations of the passages though....

Peace.

The gifts came only in the two outpourings, or through an apostle's hands. They ended with the apostles. You might be seeing other types of manifestations thinking they are the originals. If any of the signs and wonders of the apostles were here today, the media would verify it. It's all "hearsay" reports.
