I still wonder why the military wouldn't go with the 6.5 Grendel as opposed to a whole new rifle and caliber.

Of course they should be banned as they are designed for killing people on mass. You don't need such weapons in American society as you have law enforcement offices that are armed and you have a army to protect you. The 2nd amendment argument is just an excuse to have such weapons and besides you can amend and amendment, that's why it is called an amendment.

In Australia we banned such weapons and since then have had no mass shootings. If you care about the welfare of your fellow citizens, then enact gun laws that ban such weapons completely, you DON'T need them.

Lets also ban cars and motorcycles that can go faster than 60 MPH, that would be a fair comparison. it is not about what something is designed to do; rather the utilitarian nature of what it is used for.

I'd "ban" anything for civilian sale that holds more then 8 rounds. Why 8? Because the M1 rifles carried by the GIs in WW2 were fed by 8 round clips, and we won. Seriously, though, I'm a 2A guy, but I see no need for 30 round quick-change mags, or drum mags, for crying out loud! Those are just loony bait. eight rounds is enough for any civilian purposes. I'd go a step further and not sell any long arm that doesn't have a fixed magazine, optionally fed with stripper clips. Yeah, call me a commie, but that's how I'm seeing it.

I do not believe that the AR has committed any crimes or that it is an outlaw or that it should be outlawed, that can not be said for everyone who has used it however, we need to stop blaming the gun for the acts of the people.

So yeah, let's just let every mental defective with a grudge have a weapon that he can load up on Sunday and shoot the rest of the week.

ARs are fine, just modify them with fixed mags loaded with stripper clips. Make 100 round mags class 3.

Yeah - never seen a rifle or handgun for that matter commit a crime.
Everyone always want to blame an object ban it and further the communist plan for total control.
Cars and trucks ... now that is where we can save some lives, and driving is a privilege not a right, so easier to ban them outright.

My AR was not fully automatic, rather it is self loading like these:

Semi auto, yeah, but there the similarity ends. No 100 round mag for your shotgun, and you're still loading your .22 from a fixed tube mag. That's the key. Anti-gun lonies talk about "military style" because they can't tell the butt from the muzzle in any case. The problem is the use of high cap magazines, and that's the AR's only sin.
