When it comes to growth, God created two types of life:
1. Plants & animals that stop growing at a certain age.
2. Plants & animals that continue to get bigger until they die.
The giant dinosaurs we see in the fossil record lived on the earth prior to the Flood, when the lifespan was nearly a thousand years.
After the Flood, which destroyed our planet's environment, the lifespan took a dive.

If true, it's certainly an embarrassment to Linnaeus huggers.

The only Linnaeus huggers are the creationists that keep adding him to lists of scientists that happened to be creationists.
Since not one word of that is in the Bible, and all of it contradicts science, your speculation can take a hike.
Then you must have missed the story of the grapes of Eschol, eh?
You also must be using another bible, as the lifespans did indeed take a dive after Noah.
Prior to the Flood:
Methuselah = 969 years old
Jared = 962 years old
Noah = 950 years old
Adam = 930 years old -- (probably 950 or 960)
Kenan = 910 years old
Enosh = 909 years old
Mahalalel = 895 years old
Lamech = 777 years old
After the Flood:
Shem = 600 years old
Arphaxad = 438 years old
Salah = 433 years old
Eber = 464 years old
Peleg = 239 years old
Reu = 239 years old
Abraham = 175 years old
Moses = 120 years old

Keep looking.Just another reason not to view the book of genesis as literal. The relative age of humans can be determined from their bones. Many human remains have been excavated by archeologists and anthropologists of that period and none come even close to any of those ages. NONE, zero, nada, nicht.

The Flood that engulfed the entire world's land masses, killed all but those in a big barge and tore up the landscape so that miles of sediment would be available to bury the bodies.Flood? What flood?
