wait, u're right. She does have the light seal. Doh to me!

That mean's we've got:

Earth
Fire
Water
Light

We've still got to find Air, Gem and Life, and the life seal you've given me the plot for, and I want to wait a little bit, it'd be nice if it was the last seal found.

lol, ok.

so the air seal's still hidden somewhere, um, i'm gonna take it ok? :)

by the way, Jn207.... Clise's not that kind of a girl that get scared so easily, hehe.
----

Fire burnt in the background and Taren kept a watchful eye as Clise eased Vialla onto the ground and put her hand on her head. Almost immediately, the girl gave a slight gasp and her eyes shot open, no longer dull as before.
"Go!" Patyrn urged, and without further delay, they moved out. Vialla was keeping pace between them, and Aridol appeared suddenly beside them, giving Taren a glare for leaving him behind as he strode forward.

Clise gave her head a shake and rubbed it slightly with the back of her hand.
"You ok?" Freezia asked, her shoulder brushing against Clise's.
"I just had the strangest.... vision," she said uncertainly.

"Well? Any ideas where to?" Aridol asked, "By the way, Lorgain's gone off to attend some unfinished business. I don't know where he is at the moment."
"If he's as smart as he think he is, he'll find us," Vialla spoke up.
"That's one way of saying we won't wait for him," Aridol commented amirably.

They followed Patyrn through the backstreets. It was clear that she wasn't sure where she was going, but at least she was leading them away from the evil source. The fire still burnt merrily behind them, drawing much attention. Doors were opened and shut along the street and curious people poked their heads out of windows, giving the group suspicious looks.

"Clise?" Taren said. He was sure that he didn't hurt her when he shoved her away in surprise back in the inn. Clise didn't look at him. Feeling uncomfortable, he touched her shoulder, "You allright?"
"Taren!" Freezia's eyebrows quirked up alarmingly and she reached for them as their outlines fizzled out. Ahead, Patyrn dug in her heels and turned around, her eyes widening at what she saw. Aridol and Vialla stopped on their track.
----

The sound of a roaring dragon echoed in her head, and air rushed by her face coldly. Amid the huge roar, a voice of determination, gentleness and frustration become louder. The image of Klaze's dying moment rose out of the void, and she felt a lump in her throat.

Zap.

Where am i?
I've no idea.
Taren?

She opened her eyes slowly, and looked around. Taren was standing beside her, a puzzled look on his face. They were standing atop.... nothingness. Below was a haze of fog, above was a haze of fog, in fact, it seems that they were surrounded by fog.
Clise gripped Taren's arm unconsciously. He put his hand on hers which was trembling, and he could feel it getting colder.

"I'm sorry, i must have startled you," she said.
Surprised once again, he admitted, "You did. Sorry. Mind telling me what strange vision you had?"
She smiled, "So you were eavesdropping all these time."
They stared out into the fog. Taren decided not to comment.

"It was while we were in the fire, behind the shield that Patyrn put up. Suddenly i was in another... place," she bite her lower lip, "It's hard to explain, and the presence of the water seal was somehow mixed in it." She paused for a moment, "I heard the sound of a dragon's roar, and the voice of my brother. He died just before i started out on this journey."

"I'm sorry," Taren said sincerely, he could sense that there was something more to it, but this wasn't the time to ask, "Do you think it may have something to do with this fog we're in?"
"It's possible...... i don't know," she said. "Let me concentrate."

Taren waited. Maybe he could help by using the earth seal? but how? he wasn't even sure whether they were in Dal Calene anymore, and it was obvious that they were just... floating in nothingness. Where on earth was there a place where you could just... float? and weren't they escaping from whatever that was chasing them? how did they get here?

Clise tugged at his arm, "This way."
Shrugging inwardly, he followed keenly aware that the quaterstaff in his hand won't be of much use.

They seems to be drifting through an emptiness on sensation. Taren was sure that his feet weren't moving but his body was, sailing and floating along beside Clise's. Strange, he was beginning to feel that there was something ahead of them, and he knew he didn't have the ability to sense the earth seal before.

"What is it?"
"Your senses are sharpening," Clise returned his unvoiced thought.
"You know i had trouble sensing the seal, could it be the earth seal responding?" he speculated, a guess of what they were facing forming in his mind.
The fog cleared and an endless strength of cloud with a whirling haze of white sat beneath them. The pair watched quietly as the revolving cloud spun slowly into a stop.

Taren pursed his lips, "I can feel the tug. Yes, my earth seal's definitely responding to something."
"Then let's check it out," Clise said, willing them towards the haze of whiteness. "Wait!" Taren said suddenly as they burst through the layer of cloud and emerged... into a scene of more clouds.
Clise's brows furrowed worriedly, "You're right, we can't linger here anymore. Something else is... interfering."
"Then let's get it done and get out of here," he said firmly. Nodding, Clise willed them on further, into the source of the sensation that was pulling them along from the time they dropped into this second dimension.

A disc of white hovered before them and the air current whirled around them steadily. Clise reached out with her hand, hesitating.

The evil presence came closer.

"What're you waiting for?" Taren asked, bewildered.
"I..." she stammered, her fingers suddenly felt limp. The air seal beckoned strongly, yet her hand refused to raise itself. As if vexed, the air current surrounding them began to pick up its pace, and they felt themselves being moved to another space.
"We can't stand here forever, there's no time," Taren urged and he looked at Clise with a serious expression. He couldn't understand why she was hesitating.

The air around them began to thicken. Clise choked.
Taren cleared his throat. He could feel the solid bend of air behind his back, and his eyes began to water. Suddenly, Clise stepped forward and took hold of the air seal, "Fine, if that's what you want!" she directed her shout to the seal. Immediately they found it easier to breath and Taren let out an audible sigh. What the? it was trying to kill us!
"Now what?" he asked.

The air cleared and they found themselves standing on solid earth. Colour came back onto the scene. The trees swayed gently in the wind, and the scent of flowers floated to them. The two looked up and saw Dal Calene's stony walls standing high in a distance.

They were outside the city.

Vialla stepped forward and caught at Freezia, who was breathing hoarsely, her eyes wild and her hands clenched so tight that her knuckles were white. Both of them could feel a strange heaviness on her limbs, like iron chains holding them strapped to the ground. Freezia seemed to be more sensitive, and writhed in agony. She had never been chained in her life, never felt attached to the ground.

Aridol and Patryn hurried up, restraining Freezia until she relaxed, blood staining her hands where they dug into the earth.

Finally, the shadow passed and she recovered. "Let's get out of here," she whispered.

Although curious, Patryn asked no questions and they faded into the shadows, flying away from the destroyed inn. "There's evil here we cannot comprehend," she murmured, and Vialla heard her.

"There is a heaviness on my heart. We had best get to the docks and cast off. Clise and Taren know our destination."

They walked and ran in intervals, weaving their way through the darkened city until they managed to disentangle themselves from the maze of back streets. The black gleam of Don Calene's waters under the stars was seen in glimpses between the mussel-covered sailing vessels. It washed about the hulls with an eerie sigh, and Freezia shuddered. Aridol noticed and quickened their pace.

All of them could feel the evil -- the black, strangling evil that clutched at their limbs and transformed the barren streets into jumbled visions of prowling monsters and glinting fangs.

Sucking in great gasps of air, they felt their limbs leaden and heavy as they urged each other on. Finally they slowed to a walk, and emerged on the top of the terraced city, the bald, open area where few dared to walk because of the lightning storms. They could see the entire city -- dozens of pinpricks spread out before them.

"Look!" Vialla shouted, pointing upwards, a drop of water tracing a silver line down her arm. Awed, they looked upwards to the sky, where a white light seemed to be revolving, amidst a grey veil. Big, fat water drops were landing all about them in a silver rain, and mist plumed where they fell.

A drop hit Freezia's outstretched palm, and it burned with a white flame that extinguished almost instantly. She drew it back instantly and heard the shriek from Vialla, "Look out!"

Something seemed to hit the back of her head, and she felt that she was falling down a deep well. Energy sprang to life around her, and Patryn did her best to shield the others as they watched blue bands of energy cascade around Freezia, wrapping her limbs and hissing.

Freezia felt the agony burning her skin like a thousand needles piercing her. A scream built in her throat and she staggered back, the light gone. She collapsed, shuddering as another ribbon of white energy struck the rocks nearby.

Vialla and Aridol grabbed Freezia's arms and fled down the slope ahead of them, dodging smouldering clumps of grass and blackened treestumps.

Freezia risked a look upwards and saw the viel had thickened, drawing tighter together and now charcoal. The light was gone, and lightening spouted from the cloud, a small tornado kicking up dust as they hurried their steps to the waterfront. Had she looked longer, she would have seen the two glowing figures drop from the cloud and land unscathed, but she did not, and saw not.

She coughed up blood.

Instantly they could the force of evil retreating from their immediate vicinity, but it wasn't fleeing, it was merely going its own way.
I'll let you live for now

Startled, Taren looked around wildly, there was no way. Did the presence actually speak to them?
They walked towards the Waterfront which wasn't too far away from where they landed. When they approached the place, Clise gave a small gasp. Blackened stones and wood splinters laid scattered, and there was a smell of burnt fire lingering in the air. Obviously when she and Taren were still with the air seal, they had no idea what the seal was doing. Just ahead of them, they saw a group of people resting beside the churning water, and one figure hailed them.

"It's Aridol!" Taren said, "Hey!"
----

"What happened?" Clise and Vialla said at the same time. Patyrn was bent over Freezia, healing her injuries and transferring some energy into her.
"I see that the evil presence is no longer here, for the moment," she said matter of factly.

Clise took out the air seal. "It was calling me through a vision, and i guess Taren got caught up when he had his hand on my shoulder."
Patyrn grimaced, "I don't know what happened back there, but your seal sure did lots of damage. Freezia's been hit a couple of times."
Clise's hand flew to her mouth. Taren jumped to her defence, "She didn't do anything. In fact, the seal was trying to kill us back there!"

"Why would a seal do that?" Vialla said, puzzled.
Clise went to Freezia and placed her hand on her forehead, adding her own strength to Patyrn's. I'm sorry Freezia, i should've been stronger.

She could feel the seal tugging at her, and when she hesitated, it tugged harder. She tried to fight it. There was no way.... the air seal wanted her, yet she was so weak, her brother wouldn't have died if she was only stronger. The air seal would do well to find another, but it wouldn't listen.
She found herself choking. The air getting thicker, and Taren spluttering beside her. The tugging grew more intense. The seal urged her to reach out her hand....
If she did not, she and Taren would be killed. The air seal thundered angrily.
"Fine, if that's what you want!"

Freezia was strong enough to stand, and she did. Her eyes flashed as she looked upon Lorgan. "We did agree to meet at the Inn. But the inn is no longer there." She gestured towards the city. Since they were on the waterfront, they could no longer see the inn.

Clise stood up also, facing Lorgan. Vialla hovored in the background, neutral. "These innocents as you call them have twice attempted to take our lives this night. I suggest you think it over before you blame us."

Lorgan paused, calmed somewhat. "All right. Let's get out of here."

They agreed and Freezia pointed to a slim ketch moored nearby. "I bought that one this morning."

"You bought it?" asked Aridol incredulously. "I arranged for tickets on a ferry."

"This will be safer, and no innocents will be in danger. Give the tickets away and whoever will stalk the wrong people."

"Brilliant," Taren said without enthusiasm.

"I thought you'd think so," Freezia said. "Especially when I had to sell them some of my gold coins. How grateful!"

Clise looked at her strangely. "What gold coins?"

Freezia laughed, with a tinge of hysterics. "The ones I made out of copper!"

They suppressed their mirth and crept aboard the Grey Moth in the first hours of dawn, the light of the lightening reflecting eerily off of their faces.

Aridol and the group boarded the Grey Morth and it set out of the harbour. Their destination was still not quite clear, however, they had to get out of Dal Celene as quickly as possible, before another 'accident' happened.

Aridol tapped the railing out the ship, and asked, "So where's this gem seal hidden? You know what, we have literally, a lot of power in our hands now."

"Yeah, quite some power," Taren said, "I don't doubt this should get interesting before long."
"Interesting?" Vialla said, her eyes round.
"Right... let's see if we could get ahead of the enemy this time," Clise said, tapping her fingers on the railing thoughtfully. "Got a map, Aridol?"
Aridol took out a map from his bag and spread it on the table.

um, allright, let's get a move on with the story.... we're nearly there.
----

"The gem seal's next," Freezia said.
"What makes you think so?" Aridol said, glancing up from the map.
"The life seal's the most powerful out of all seven, because it can prevent death. One would think that it wouldn't be found so easily," she said, a wink appearing in her eye. Clise was glad that she seemed to have become her old self again, merry and happy.
Aridol couldn't help rolling his eyes once, "A fair speculation." he conceded, though his eyes betrayed him.

"Well, got any ideas?" Clise said, looking at the group.
Vialla raised her hand, "There was a rumour that the gem seal's hidden somewhere... here," she said quietly, putting her finger on the map.
They all stared.

Lorgain pondered thoughtfully, "It makes sense.... we've made it this far too easily."
Taren eyed the map uneasily, "If we must."
Patyrn did not say a word, and Clise, Aridol and Freezia exchanged a three way glance.

It was the troll territory, the place where Taren had crossed over once when he was still was Cashiel and Zan.
----

maybe we can make the life seal to be nearby too.

Okay . . . .

~~~~~
"The gem seal's next," Freezia said rather dazedly.
The others looked at her askense, and after Aridol's comment, she sat up so quickly that she winced. "Why, the Life seal's the most powerful out of all seven, because it prevents death. It won't be found too eaily." She grinned at Clise.
Everyone excluding Aridol and Lorgan silently agreed with her logic, only Aridol voiced his opinion. "A fair speculation." Freezia merely smiled and lay back on the bracken, her eyes closed. She opened them once and winked at Freezia and Clise.
Sighing, she lay so still that the others fancied her asleep after a bit and continued making their plans in the dim light of the ship's lantern.
~~~~~

The map was not very detailed. "What's that line?" demanded Patryn. "It doesn't look like anything natural."

"I don't know," Taren protested uneasily. "I got it off a couple of thieves. They'd gotten it from the loot of some ship."

The thick black line lay across their route. The river passed across it and seemed to make a lake just on the other side.

"I don't like it," Aridol murmured. "We'd better get off the river, it might be something dangerous."

"There's a sidestream just ahead," Lorgan reported. "I saw it from the air."

"Let's take it."

~~~~~
As the ship's prow dipped in the current, the moon cast its first rays over the fir tips, glinting off of the ebony water. Inside the Grey Moth, Freezia's eyes snapped open.
The caves of Landinarre!
It was near dawn, with the sun just waking up.
The group prepared themselves, and boarded a small longboat with dreary eyes. The boat was gently lowered, making small splashes on the quiet water. The rowers then slowly forwarded the boat towards the sidestream that would take them to the caves of Landinarre.
Aridol stifled another yawn as they approached the cave. Although he was trained by the military, but many nights of no sleep had make lives difficult.
*I wonder how this will turn out. It IS inside troll territories* Aridol thought.
Taren eyed the surroundings and whispered, "Trolls, I just hate them."
awww, the pic didn't show up, Kookaburra.
----
The boat made a noise as it came to shore, its bottom scraping the stones beneath it. Lorgain leaped out of the boat and stood on the stones, draggin the board forward. Aridol went next and he steadied the boat with his hands as Taren and the rest of the group climbed out.
"The caves of Landinarre," Freezia said into the slience. It felt rather like a pronouncement of death and a chill crept up Clise's back. A faraway look appeared on Taren's face and Patyrn shifted uncomfortably. Lorgain gave Freezia a look, he was already standing at the cave entrance, examining it in his manner while Aridol lighted a torch.
"We've come this far, let us finish the task," Clise said softly as she placed a hand on Freezia's shoulder. Freezia nodded in response.
uh.... no, i still haven't figured out the black line thing, got to leave it up to you, Kookaburra.
----
Lorgain and Aridol went on ahead with Taren bringing up the rear and the ladies in the middle. The entrance of the cave was quite narrow, yet it wasn't so narrow that they needed to squeeze through. Once they were encircled by the cave walls, all they heard was their footfall and all they saw were black, dusty stone walls illuminated by Lorgain's torch. The group shuffled forward and kept on high alert.
Abruptly, they came to a large circular space where there were two routes.
