I don't think that the average Atheist is any more moral or immoral than the average religionist frankly. It was you who implied that predominantly secular nations had lower crime rates.

I agree Colter, there are good and bad on both sides. Prison statistics in the US shows an overwhelming majority of the incarcerated are religious, but I believe it's due to the majority of the population that practice religion, not due to any other factors but that.

The Aztecs were extremely religious folks!

The idea that being religious means being morally better than an atheist or an agnostic is ridiculous. Such a belief depends on so many variables that its fallacy should be obvious.

My avatar is simply the way I am feeling right now in general due to some very recent unpleasant events that occurred two days ago. I was planning to change it back to the other one which is more pleasant to look at since this one is starting to visually grate one my nerves.

I told you already

All you have done is tell me things that Christianity has.

It's like an argument about which is better, Star Trek or Star Wars. One person might say that Star Wars is better because it has light sabers. The other might say that Star Trek is better because it has Klingons. But neither of those things is going to convince the other, is it? Likewise, you can tell me that you have Jesus in Christianity, and despite the fact that you are right that only Christianity claims Jesus as the son of God, that isn't going to convince someone who doesn't already believe.

And every religion has something similar, just as I've said.

So what was the point of you posting this:

Because it sure looked like an attempt to make it look like atheists want to kill people.

You dodged the point.

Your point was a strawman.

You tried to say what I promote, and you tried to say that I have a faith.

You also tried to claim that I was unfairly biasing my point by using a peaceful secular country as an example. Very well - please feel free to give me an example of a very violent secular country if you think that will be better. You may find one or two, but I've found that most secular countries tend to be quite nice places to live.

You also claimed that the only reason that secular countries are peaceful is because they got their peaceful ways from the religious forebears - and yet the most religious countries in the world tend to be more violent. Even in the USA, there's quite a bit of violence, and a lot of it is promoted by religious people. If you want specific examples, I'd be happy to provide them.

So, if you actually HAD a legitimate point, I must have missed it. Perhaps you can sum it up in a single sentence?

An Atheist joins a Christian forum and promotes Atheism, then plays dumb when confronted about their claims.

That's kinda rich, isn't it?

Who was born in a country that started WW1, then moved to a country that was founded as a penal colony?

Bro,

Are you alright? Whatever it is, you take it easy ya?

Thanks for the kind words and advice.

I'm still hurting from what happened. But there is one consolation very well conveyed in this Spanish proverb which was constantly repeated to me as I was growing up.

"No hay mal que dure cien años ni cuerpo que lo resista."

or

"There is no malady that lasts a hundred years nor a human body capable of enduring it."

So this is all ultimately temporary and reprieve will inevitably come. As the bible says, "Better is the end of a thing than its beginning."

As we're fond of saying: "This too shall pass."

(396 verses in the Bible contain the phrase, "And it came to pass.")

There have also been Atheist leaders who have committed atrocities. That was the point.

Of course, it hasn't been shown that they committed their atrocities in the name of atheism, or because they were atheists.

I mean, Hitler and Stalin had mustaches, but if someone claimed that their facial hair was the cause of what they did, they'd be laughed at.

Austria is no longer starting world wars. Australia is no longer a penal settlement.

America still has people promoting violence and hate in the name of religion. I'd be more than happy to provide examples.
