  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey light horse, just wondering, your Catholic icon seems to conflict with your signature.
Are you fallen away?
Um... I don't think so... although there ARE a couple of points of Church doctrine I don't agree with, I don't think there is any conflict between being Catholic and believing that the Bible was written to make life better for people, rather than believing people live to follow the Bible.

Thanks for asking though

Yeah, let's keep feeding Zone.... cause that's worked really well in the past.

C'mon people, the guy makes no sense and doesn't even bother trying to actually argue a point. When he's cornered, he just launches into the ad hominems...

So, really, what's the point in even replying to him?

I wanna see when he cracks. If he's a troll, no one can keep up such stupidity. If he's for real, he's bound to have that gnawing feeling of not being able to respond with a real answer.

Either way, at least he and some of his comrades keep me entertained here.

No, there's not, but you just seemed to show a level of disdain for people who do live by the Bible.
That's all, thanks for clearing it up!

*wince* See, thing is I don't think we are meant to live by the Bible, but rather, the Bible is meant as a guide to make it easier for us to live by each other! I've always thought so, I remember having this discussion with my Dad on the way home from confirmation class. Years of meditation and prayer convict me more and more that people who try to follow the Bible have got it wrong. Following the Bible isn't what its all about, being excelent to each other is what its all about, and is also what Christ taught. Wow, talk about off topic for a life sciences thread huh? :)

I'd like to say that this new development is yet another nail in the coffin of Creationism's nonsense. But for two things.

1. You know they aren't going to listen anyway, when do they ever.

and

2. Creationism lost a long time ago. In fact, it never got into the argument in the first place.

Maybe people Like Zone will figure it out before they die of old age or whatnot. I hope so.

Notice, kind readers, that my challenge still stand there, glowing in the face of Zones absolutism :D

Oh and Zone, drop the fancy speak when you do answer - I want to understand what you write.

Now follows the challenge: this bit below here seperated by the word "or":

a) Either the ark story is true, and fewer species is the only option for fitting them all in. This neccessitates some form of rapid evolution after the flood.

or

b) The Ark story is a "only a" story. A biblical metaphor for something perhaps?

LOL
Even more (unnecessary) hilarity, so the act of two (2) DNA's being combined is what you view as "evolution"?

Then every individual (excluding Adam & Eve) "evolved" & (knowingly, or unknowingly) is an "evolutionist" & every cloned animal "evolved", etc.

:doh:According to you, every time any organic matter &, or species gives birth, reproduces (i.e., procreates) it actually had evolved, so using your nonsensical erroneous ideology, your conception, birth, & continued existence upon Earth is a result of "evolution" in which as a geneticist I say, such a mentality is intuitively indicative of any individual(s) who obviously do not have any macroscopic &, or microscopic idea(s) what DNA, etc is all about, what they're thinking, believing &, or saying.... Congratulations.

Your writing sure is funny. If you left out all of the ways you repeat yourself your post would be down to half a sentence.

What would be even funnier would be to see you trying to talk and answer questions even in front of undergrads. Or trying to figure out how to use a microscope, for that matter.

What a total phony you are.

Hi Jester4kicks,
LOL
If your (above) nonsensical statement is 100% correct......

Please solve this paradox for me, I (currently) have 395 posts & 18 blogs in which not even (1%) one percent of any of them have ever been disproved.... why?

Well, so much for the authenticity of your statement(s), etc.

An adult north american chipmunk can hold up to 12 standard-sized nuts in its cheeks at once.

Unless they're walnuts.

Guess it is about that time.

This thread is now officially about Chipmunks. How long do you guys think it would take to breed Chipmunks to be able to stuff 12 coconuts into their cheeks?

This guy seems to already have some in there :D

Indeed.

Chipmunks are very resourceful.

Of course - slow, gradual change over billions of years is totally impossible, but hyperfast evolution in a period of some thousand years is A-OK.

Make that a few hundred years, remember that Historical times begin shortly after the flood supposedly happened.

Hmm a good flood debunker that, you could cross reference species found in layers that would have been postflood , and thus scientifically debunk that whole "kinds" argument. again.

Probably about the same amount of time it would take to breed swallows capable of carrying coconuts.

The question is, what is the average windspeed of a coconut-laden swallow?
