Um... I don't think so... although there ARE a couple of points of Church doctrine I don't agree with, I don't think there is any conflict between being Catholic and believing that the Bible was written to make life better for people, rather than believing people live to follow the Bible.

*wince* See, thing is I don't think we are meant to live by the Bible, but rather, the Bible is meant as a guide to make it easier for us to live by each other! I've always thought so, I remember having this discussion with my Dad on the way home from confirmation class. Years of meditation and prayer convict me more and more that people who try to follow the Bible have got it wrong. Following the Bible isn't what its all about, being excelent to each other is what its all about, and is also what Christ taught. Wow, talk about off topic for a life sciences thread huh?

I'd like to say that this new development is yet another nail in the coffin of Creationism's nonsense. But for two things.

1. You know they aren't going to listen anyway, when do they ever.

2. Creationism lost a long time ago. In fact, it never got into the argument in the first place.
