Hi Kidsagainstkows, thanks for giving me a laugh. The Bible says folks can understand the milk of the gospel - we are sinners and cannot save ourselves but if we trust in Jesus, God will save us - but only born again folks can understand the meat of scripture.
You are a case in point. The verse you referenced, 1 Corinthians 14:33 is not talking about scripture but rather peace within local assemblies (churches). So either you were confused about the subject or you choose to support your false charge with falsehood. But wait, there is more. The translation you used (KJV) added the words "the author" they are not actually in that verse. So you based a view of scripture on a single verse without even looking at other translations. For example the New King James version puts "the author" in italics to inform you that the words were added by the translators. Now if you look at the NIV it reads God is not a God of disorder but of peace. Another translation says God is not a God of tumult. So God is not a God of confusion but of peace seems to refer to tumult as confusion. In other verses, we see that "confusion" comes from men, as in misinterpreting scripture. In Galatians 1:7, Paul says some WANT to trouble you (i.e throw you into confusion) by perverting the gospel.

May God bless

Scriptures should be for everyone and for the purpose of proving that your god exists

Proof is available for all who seek it.

But, because God is greater and more expansive than the limits we put on ourselves through science. Those who worship "Science" will have a hard time ever finding the proof they are trained to look for.

It seems to me like Science is in direct confrontation with religion on a number of issues. some of these issues have been solved (always with Christianity backing down to science) and some have not (well they have in all common and legal senses, but not in a debate sense).

Here is my question of the day, Why didnt God put down the correct way the world works in the bible? Instead it put in exactly what people believed when it was written. there are three (one of God's numbers) scientific theories (read: facts) which are at odds with reality.

The first one is of course evolution. Evolution clearly happens through natural and artificial selection and it is easily visible to anyone who looks. for instance, all domesticated dogs come from wolves. teacup dogs and great danes are technically different species because of a mechanical hindrance to reproduction (size).

The second is Germ Theory. Germs live in and around all things, but were not discovered until the late 1800's by Louis Pasteur. When he came out and began to talk about germs the religious institutions came down on him hard saying that sickness was the direct result of the devil. The Christian Science community still believes this to be the case, most other sects have conceded this one.

Lastly is the Heliocentric model. Copernicus was killed becuase he dared to create an accurate model of how the Earth rotated around the sun. the religious defense was Ecclesiastes 1:5 (for the guy who wanted to talk about Ecclesiastes), and a couple of other verses stating that it was not so. Galileo was forced to recant the same findings.

so, discuss.

more specifically isotope (not just carbon, but other element usage as well) dating. Many have tried to refute its effectiveness, and while imprecise, it is mathematically sound that it is a sound means of dating objects even millions of years back. Do I believe that this means that 6 day theory is inaccurate, metaphorical, or incorrect...no. I believe the following:

If Earth and the universe were only 6,000 years old, we would only be able to see stars with a maximum distance of 6,000 light-years, otherwise the light would not have had time to reach us.

Let’s put this in context. The Milky Way galaxy is approximately 100,000 light-years across, with our solar system about 28,000 light-years from the center. This puts us about 22,000 light-years from our galaxy’s outer edge.

If the universe were only 6,000 years old, we would see only a fraction of the 200 billion stars in just OUR galaxy since light from others would not have had enough time to reach us!

Of course, you have seen countless pictures of stars near Earth. There are amazing images of some of the estimated 125 billion galaxies. Of these, 3,000 are visible and can be anywhere from 80,000 to billions of light-years away. Light from the most distant galaxies had to have traveled for billions of years before it reached Earth. Of course, for light to travel billions of years there had to have been a universe for billions of years!

Earth has existed for billions of years. And it was only relatively very recently that God renewed—recreated—the earth to prepare it for the first human beings, Adam and Eve!

When one allows the Bible to interpret itself, and then uses that knowledge to properly interpret scientific data, the truth of creation is not only accurate, but magnificent and awe-inspiring!

Is the Earth 6,000 Years Old?

God did write the Bible from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and used imperfect man:
2 Timothy 3:16.

Next, science and the bible don't contradict at all. Science is just men taking notes on what God has done. Credible evolution is some macroevolution and all microevolution but darwinism is a farce. Read www.reasons.org -its about science and belief.

Because God released Satan to deceive mankind, atheism is a result of the sin committed by Adam and Eve. All sorts of theories have been made by man to find out about the origins of the bible. The star of Bethlehem guided three wise men to the stable where Jesus was born. The star could be theorised as an invisible alien-built satellite with an advanced GPS guidance system, a satellite that has a supercomputer that detects computer hackers' residential address and vehicle licence number seconds from the moment they defraud someone's paypal account for example. The satellite inventor could be disguised as a self-learned computer engineer, living as a low-paid local newspaper letterbox deliverer. No one would know if the bible was invented by a human-disguised alien. Such a clever theory as this can cause atheists and Christians to believe me more than belief in God and human evolution.

Copernicus was killed? According to the science documentaries I've watched, he died of natural causes. His work wasn't even charged as heretical until he had been dead for 50 years.

As for the theory of evolution, it's running into trouble from the scientific community. Dr. Wells, a specialist in DNA research, has conducted tests on Africans, Asians and Aborigines. His findings have shown that all those tested had 1 common ancestor as their father. His research is being financed through grants from IBM and The National Geographic Society, so there is no religious bias to contend with.

Also the theory of evolution is based on there not being any extinction level events since the one 65 million years ago. Science has discovered that this is not the case. We now have photos of meteor craters that have hit the earth since that time, any of which would have destroyed all life, either immediately or via the subfreezing temperatures which would have lasted for many years after their impact. We also have evidence of at least 2 supervolcanoes having erupted, one 640,000 years ago and the other 70,000 years ago, each of which sent the earth into a worldwide deep-freeze which lasted for 3 to 5 years.

As for the germ theory, that was fought by doctors, not religious leaders. Dr. Simmelweis, an Austrian physician, noted that those doctors who went from examining cadavers directly to the maternity area to deliver infants had a high incidence of maternal deaths. He ordered them to wash their hands after examining cadavers, and the death rate went down dramatically. But they raised such a furor over his ordering them to wash their hands that his order was countermanded. The death rate went back up, but the doctors refused to change their routine until they were again ordered to do so based on the evidence found by Louis Pasteur.
