I am trying to get your point on this statement:
It does not say that we are saved first and then after that we will be taught how to do that, so it is speaking about an aspect of our salvation that is ongoing in the present tense. What you are saying it the words I darkened is absolutely not correct! Salvation is exactly the opposite of what you state! The natural man cannot please God, they are DEAD in trespass and sin, and if they die in that state they face eternal judgment in the lake of fire as told in the word of God. That is the whole purpose of verses like Eph: 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:9
Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Read v8 it says you are saved through faith, that is a gift of God unmerited favor,
and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God. Lest any man should boast. For WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS WHICH GOD HAS BEFORE ORDAIND THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM. Salvation must come first and then the good works must follow in order to show that one has been filled with the Holy Spirit and by the word of God the saved person learns how to apply that word of God into their daily walk. Faith must come first which draws us to believe in Him to receive salvation and then we begin to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That is exactly what this text here says in
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. The word transforms the mind and heart to desire to do the will of God, now we must begin to apply the word in our lives by faith, without faith it is impossible to Please Him, Hebrews 11:6
