He has made appearances in "Satanic Churches" which are actually atheists; they just call themselves Satanists in order to make Christians get all steamed about it. In reality they're plain old secular humanists with a streak of rational egoism. They're still wrong, but they don't worship the devil. And neither does Marilyn Manson. Making exaggerated claims about how evil someone is doesn't help anything; in fact it is counterproductive.

I know what they believe, but some of them actually DO worship Satan, most Satanists believe that Satan is just a term for the voice inside them that tells them to do stuff and all that crap. Marliyn Manson apparently does worship the devil as an actual being, the one from the bible.

I think that kind of music is crap lol, though I like some metal, not that kind. I'm quite open to music, as long as it sounds good, The Beatles are currently my favourite band
Marilyn Manson - Anti Christ Superstar, sells bracelets with WWJD (We Want Jesus Dead), hating on Christians, etc. He delibarately goes against Christianity.

It needs to be said that Slayer is not a satanic band. They simply sang about satan in the past. I believe the singer/bassist is actually a christian. He was actually asked point blank whether he thought God hates us all and he said no.

Oh yeah sorry I don't research every line of every song :S And I know it was sarcasm, just pointing it out, hence I said they're not a Satanic band.

If you were making a joke, I'm sorry I misunderstood you. But if not, I'm just saying be careful about using the word "Satanic" as a descriptive term. Technically, everything that is sinful is satanic. But I think the word should be reserved for people who consciously and deliberately follow Satan and oppose Christ. For that, you have to believe in both Satan and Christ, and I'm pretty sure Johnny Rotten is an atheist. It's one thing not to believe in Him; it's quite another to believe in and oppose Him.

Satanist rock bands are used to lure in impressionable young people who, initally have no interest in cults, just like the music -- until they are introduced to Satanist ways. Teenage girls and young women, especially, become "groupies" to such bands. They get more and more sexually promiscuous and, inevitably, end up being used in vile rituals by male cult leaders. These men are often demonically possessed -- or may even be Lucifer himself in human form.

The dangers of Satanism are made very clear in the shocking news story below. It tells of a young woman's involvement with a Satanist "church." The parents of any Christian teen should pass it on as a cautionary tale.

When I think of Dimmu Borgir and Naglfar, I think of World of Warcraft nerds playing video games all day haha. I don't know why, I can't help it. Dimmu especially just seems so cheesy to me.

I don't know why anyone would think Nile are satanists. I thought everyone knew that all of their songs are about egyptian history/mythology or about H.P. Lovecraft's fiction. In fact many of their lyrics are taken directly from the egyptian book of the dead, which is actually not some dark and spooky magical tome, but simply a collection of letters that the family members of the deceased would place on the bodies of their loved ones before they were buried.

The only song I can think of by nile that's not about mythology or science fiction is "Kafir" which mocks islam. It seems to me that they're atheists or agnostics.

Well, you could either list bands that literally sing about satan (like Dimmu..who actually have said they only do it for show..they don't believe a single thing they sing about) or..if you where Christian, you probably would feel inclinded to list bands that are satanic in nature but yeah..lyrically Nile isn't satanic.
