Who said that Jesus healed or didn't heal mental condition? Whether he did or not doesn't matter. Just because something wasn't done in the Bible is not a statement about it.

If we use the logic of "The Bible does not mention X, therefor X is wrong"
Then:
1)Jesus didn't eat corn, therefor eating corn wrong.
2)Jesus was Jewish so he didn't celebrate birthdays, therefor celebrating birthdays is wrong.
3) Jesus wore a knee length tunic, therefor wearing pants is wrong

Just because the Bible doesn't show Jesus healing mental disorders does not mean mental disorders don't exist and it also doesn't even mean that he didn't, Jesus healed far more people than what the Bible tells us.

Nowhere did Jesus say "mental conditions don't exist"
So how exactly did Jesus 'get it wrong'?
That's a truly pathetic argument.
The gospels show several healings which would obviously be called mental illness today, yet were healed by casting out demons.

That is your argument. I just rephrased it.
Your logic is that because Jesus didn't heal mental conditions in the gospel that it means mental conditions don't exist. You can't base a conclusion on something that isn't mentioned.

I assume you believe in 'germs?' Microscopic bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa that can cause disease? They are not talked about in scripture either. The closest we have are the Old Testament laws on washing and isolation, but they didn't know that they were quarantining or washing away germs. We know about it because of scientific advancements. They probably though conditions caused by germs were caused by demons. Just because they didn't know didn't make the germs not real.

Just because conditions can be spiritual and caused by demons does not rule out that conditions can also be mental or physical.

That's not what I said.
What you today call mental problems just didn't have that name in the bible. The same problems we label today as mental issues, back then were dealt with by casting the demons out. Instant results.
Here's a few to illustrate it.-

Here's one of your "mental" problems, healed by casting the demons out
Lk8v29For He was commanding the unclean spirit to come out from the man. For it had seized him many times, and he was bound, being kept with chains and shackles. And breaking the chains, he was driven by the demon into the deserts.

Here's another "mental" problem, again healed by casting the demons out
Mark9v17Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit. 18And wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. So I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out, but they could not.”

19He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” 20Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.

21So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

23Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 24Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” 26Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

Here's another "mental" problem, hearing voices! Paul sorts it by casting the demon out!
Acts16 v16Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18And this she did for many days.

But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. 19But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.

No one is saying that these were mental conditions. Since a demon was cast out they were spiritual based problems. Which is what the scripture mostly focus' on, our spiritual condition. That doesn't mean we don't have a flesh body and a mind as well.

You won't find lengthy expose's on germs either and you didn't answer my question, do you believe in disease and conditions caused by microscopic bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa?

Hello

So for a few years I've daydreamed about a topic I've never told anyone about. I've never thought anything of it but it could mean something.

I have daydreamed a lot about Satan invading my body and through me comes the beginning of the end times. I see Satan as myself pulling the life source out of people's bodies making them grow old and die and then I see an army of white/black robotic like figures which look humanoid but inside they're demons. I daydream that Satan has far more advanced technology than any government and uses it to ultimately destroy those who are not going to be accepted into Heaven. Sometimes I daydream that I'm an angel or a human with a destiny to save someone and in the process of saving someone, I die and am surrounded by angels and taken up into Heaven.

This may all seem crazy. I will say right now I am worried that Satan is existing in the back of my mind like he has a control over part of me. I don't claim to be an angel, apostle, or someone sent by God or Satan. I simply am claiming that I have had these strange daydreams that I can't make sense of. Maybe it's just an overactive imagination or maybe someone like God or Satan is trying to tell me something in pictures and I can't decipher it.

Any advice or help would be appreciated. I do struggle with my faith if that helps with anyone giving me advice on what to do.

Many Blessings

Joshua S
Reminds me of some recurring events in the new age movement.

It is important to note that our bodies have sin in them, so evil can communicate through this to the mind in our bodies.

I would recommend to seek God on having more self control over your emotions if you view this as a message to you directly.

I agree with him because i have experiences also, people with 'opinions only' can't tell someone who experienced this stuff they are wrong. Also what he says is very biblical.

Just get close to God and the Holy spirit, be filled with him, pray a lot, then you are going to start discerning more spiritual stuff including demons and evil spirits, also the devil attacks people who are closer to spiritual truths/God, but he likes to people to just ignore him for the most part, they are not going to attack a person in an obvious manner if they don't believe, because that only can direct them to God, and they prefer to hide.

#34 posted by NBB:

I passed through doctors and they could barely help, if you are out of control because some spiritual problem the best they can do is drug you up to calm you, also i agree that there is conditions where medicine can help, Jesus can do a lot better than doctors though, and when doctors fail the gospel just can keep helping.

IMO, what NBB and Sir Francis Drake have said in this thread about demon control of imaginations, including of christians, -- is very important. Back around 50 years ago, I asked a Presbyterian associate pastor, why aren’t christians constructively criticizing all the negative things going on in churches? And he replied (paraphrased) that everything will come out all right when Christ returns.

Demonic possession has made significant headway in the last 50 years, especially in a generation that has taken spiritual powers lightly. The English colonists, primarily Baptists, Methodists, etc. went through a lot of spiritual warfare to establish a country with possibly a minimum amount of demonic influence compared to the rest of the world. This might have culminated in possibly the greatest evangelical movement in world history, DL Moody with singer Ira Sankey. IMO, some of the best gospel songs came from that period and afterwards, until modern christian music took over. Although I like some of the recent singers such as John Starnes, Janet Paschal, Bill and Gloria Gaither, Dottie Rambo, Dorothy Benham, Charles Haugebrook, etc.

But now there’s been a reverting to the sinfulness that early English christians such as John Bunyan (“Pilgrims Progress”) and the Wesleys had fought against. Charles Wesley had written the song “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.” So heavenly words and music aren’t the sole domain of satan. Ultimately, the only words and music will come from eternal heaven.
